“More Than exceptional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We stayed here post cruise after staying at Cape Grace pre cruise, we thought Cape Grace was the best but Table Bay for us was exceptional, we got of the cruise and the bell boy took our bags to the hotel we were that close, check in was a breeze we were greated by all the staff offered a drink, it was very special, the hotel is gorgeous, very classy decor and art work felt like we were in another time, the room 116 was very large with a massive deck which over looked the crusie ship we had just departed, We had the breakfast the next day, we did not have the buffet but checked it out and it was the best breakfast buffet I had ever seen, catered to every taste, again staff very attentive could not do enough for you, I actually prefered this hotel to Cape Grace, better location. but really hard to choose, if you have the opportunity check them both out

Room Tip: The first floor with the big patios

Satyed in Table Bay from 29th Jan till 3rd Feb 2013.Rooms have got some of the most beautiful views of the ocean. Access to a good mall ( with all the big brands and also a very useful drug /grocery store). Plenty of restaurants , wayside restaurants and bars alongside. Decent jacuzzi , and food was outstanding . We only had breakfast here - Truly one can Breakfast like a king here. I was surprised , a predominantly western fare , but on one day they had some delectable parathas too . Great location , great service and great food. A class act

I have to say that this hotel has the best location in Cape Town. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Because this hotel is quite old, if you expect a morden furbished hotel it will not suit the taste. However, it is right in the V&A Warerfront, with wonderful view and accesibility to the top shops, bars and restaurants. The breakfast is wonderful, it provide a big selection of foods. High tea is good as well.

We recently stayed at the Table Bay, which was chosen for us by the travel planner. I probably would not have looked to treat ourselves to a waterfront location, but it was well worth it. We arrived late at night and had no idea about our lucky location until we went down to breakfast and found our dining room had a 5-star view of Table Mtn. It was overwhelmingly beautiful. While we were at the Table Bay, we enjoyed that view as much as we could, and really appreciated being at the waterfront so we could run in and out to shop and dine very easily. Maura the concierge was a marvel, getting us last minute dinner reservations at Millers Thumb, and all of the breakfast staff were wonderful. (The breakfast buffet is literally unbelievable, catering to all possible tastes and desires...what a great way to start the day.) Overall, all of the services were great and the location was superb. Well worth it.

This hotel oozes class and charm and is in a great location with direct (but private) access to the exclusive shops of the mall. Service is spot on - attentive, courteous, friendly and genuine. It is subtle too; not intrusive. The buffet breakfast is a veritable "mini Table Mountain" of food and the choice seemingly endless; too much to mention here except to say I've never had roast duck or oysters for breakfast, along with an enviable selection of breads/rolls, juices, cereals, fruits, bacon/eggs/sausages, cheeses, sweet pastries, seafood, sparkling wine.... an absolute delight (burp!). Rooms are spacious, well-appointed, clean, bright, airy and have stunning views. Having the bed turned down late afternoon with slippers placed on a petal-strewn mat made us feel cared about. The experience of afternoon "high tea" is a must. Very handy to all the amenities of the V&A Waterfront but nicely tucked away from the noise and bustle. All of the staff we came across were extremely friendly and helpful and seemed to enjoy doing what they do - dish out great service in a great and grand hotel. Top marks; highly recommended.

Room Tip: First floor rooms have a balcony. Need to be wary is a ship docks (they can be big) - it might block...
