My husband and I stayed at this hotel on the first few nights of our honeymoon in October 2007.

It's a great hotel on the waterfront. It's very beautiful with terrific views of Table Mountain and the harbor. It's a busy hotel with a lot of activity so if you wanted something laid back and quiet and personalized attention this is not the place for you.

It's attached to the waterfront malls so you can go shopping and you have ease of access to get to wherever you want to go, which we liked.

Overall the staff was nice, the breakfast buffet was pretty good and the rooms were clean and nicely decorated.

Table bay hotel is beautiful. We got a great rate online so we were VERY happy with the hotel. Fresh flowers and flower petals in the room and on the bed. HUGE buffet breakfast that my fiance loved was included. We could eat outside with a view of the harbour and table mountain. It was gorgeous. Free internet in the business centre. The hotel is located right in the waterfront where there is lots to eat and see, it is also connected directly to a large mall. Beautiful heated pool and nice gym that we didn't have time to use. I would definitely recommend the hotel, we didn't have any complaints.

One of my favourite hotels (see previous reviews) but this time they surpassed themselves! We were upgraded to Room 726 (deluxe Suite), which beyond doubt was the largest suite I have stayed in - beautifully decorated, incredible views (and terrace, although windy!) and what must be one of the best places to stay while in Cape Town! If you can afford it, book it!

Stayed three nights in this hotel and thought it wasmediocre for the price. We arived at 1:30 and the room was not ready. OK as check in time is 2pm. We were offered complimentary coffee which never arrived. Eventually had to buy our coffee outside and returned well after check in time - room still not available. We must have looked tired as a senior manager took over and offered us an equivalent room. Not sure why that sould not have happened earlier as we had not expressed any room preference. The room was good and spacious with a nice view but the toilet smelled a bit. The Waterfront is fine but does not feel like Africa and the hotel itself looks like it has been designed by Disney. I chose this hotel as it was my first visit to Cape Town and had some securtiy concerns. Security appeared good but our camera was stolen from our locked room. I know it should have been in the safe but we slipped out for a quick drink to allow the turn down service in and the camera was charging at the time. More seriously the combination lock on my case had been tampered with. We reported this and the staff took note but there was no apology. There were problems with the bill which could not be sorted out at check out as our taxi had arrived. We had to return to the hotel later, and the problem was rapidly sorted. We had planned the Table Bay and the end of our holiday but chose the Mount Nelson instead which in my opinion is a vastly superior hotel, and similar in price. As for security-After the theft I felt safer in the small B and Bs we sayed in but perhaps not fair to compare Cape Town with the Garden route

My wife and I are just back having stayed 8 nights in the Table Bay. Having read several reviews of the hotel my expectations were high and I certainly was not disappointed. From the moment we arrived everything was just perfect. The staff are extremely helpful throughout the hotel, but I must mention the concierge Ikea who was fantastic.
I had spent the previous week in Cape Town working on a charity house building project and was in need of some serious rest and relaxation, which is exactly what we got.
In conclusion all I can say is stay at Table Bay you will NOT be disappointed!!
