“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

We have just returned from our annual stay at this wonderful hotel, and it gets better and better. We have the same delightful room every year, and only one small point is that the wifi is a bit variable. The warmth and welcome of the staff is completely unsurpassed. It is always a pleasure to have such great interaction too with some of the staff that are not always available to customers e.g the wonderfully knowledgeable gardeners, whose hard work certainly adds to the quality of our stay. This year there are some fantastic sculptures on show in the grounds with a map inviting you to visit them. The Bistro has been revamped for the better. Finally let me say that the service, food and ambiance are quite superb. We hope to be able to make this our holiday destination for many years to come. Thank you Mount Nelson

Its definitely best hotel in SA we stayed in. Perfect check in with glass of wine, lovely room, awesome pool and perfect service! And even the sink falling out on my partner legs on our bathroom did not get us out of the mood!!!!:)

We didn't stay in the hotel so this review is only for the very-well-known tea service, recommended around Cape Town as one of the bests that you can find.
I am not dying for the tea, but I have to say that th different options I found here, the kind staff, all the different options which came along with the tea (free buffet with zillions of dishes) made me enjoy every second that I spent there. The gardens were also beautiful and everything for a very affordable price
I recommend you to make a reservation first and wear clothes accordingly.

We spent an unforgettable four nights at this wonderful hotel. We were upgraded on arrival to a classic suite which was just the icing on the cake. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we had two excellent meals at the hotel and at my wife's insistence the famous afternoon tea which lived up to its reputation. We will be saving up for another visit!

Great rooms, service, food and atmosphere. Would definitely stay here again! Byron, the concierge, was a huge help. Booked us a tour to Cape of Good Hope, etc. for a reasonable price. Also the hotel allows you to use their shuttle car when available. The hotel is also a stop for the Hop On and Off Bus, so that's quite convenient.

The Mount Nelson Hotel is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The setting of the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are gorgeous, the gardens and pool area are immaculate and the food and service is first class. The hotel staff simply couldn't to enough for you and are incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Mount Nelson for six nights in November and were delighted to find, when we checked in, that we had been upgraded. Our room was enormous and beautifully decorated! The room was very quiet and the sleep quality, excellent.

The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance of Long Street, Kloof street, the city centre and even the V & A. For those who don't want to walk too far, the hotel provides a courtesy car to take you to and from the V & A Waterfront, Camps Bay and the Cable Cars (Table Mountain).

The staff were very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much effort - as you would expect from a 5-star hotel. We ate at the Planet restaurant on our first evening, which was really good - the springbok was delicious! We also partook in a spot of afternoon tea, which I highly recommend.

We will absolutely be staying here the next time we are in Cape Town. Thank you to all the staff at the Mount nelson for a wonderful, luxurious stay!
