“Fabulous… superb service and great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2009

As the holiday to South Africa was to celebrate my 60th birthday I wanted to have a memorable time and stay somewhere special, I could not have booked a better hotel in Cape Town.
Cape Grace is situated in a great location adjacent to the marina with stunning views of Table Mountain and a short walk to the vibrant waterfront with hundreds of shops and restaurants. We felt safe walking even at night with a high visibility of security present.
Cape Grace is a fabulous hotel beautifully decorated with smiling friendly staff. Wherever we went in the hotel or whatever question we asked nothing was too much trouble and everyone went the extra special mile to give exemplary service especially Tanya Wall ( senior guest liaison) who greeted us at check in and took care of our every need during our stay.
Our room was spacious, comfortable with every home comfort and terrific views over the yacht marina and Table Mountain. A giant plasma TV could be watched from a 3 seater settee and two comfy arm chairs. A writing desk and chair was separate from a dining table with four chairs lit by a majestic chandelier. A side table had four decanters of sherry , whiskey, brandy and port. The bathroom was vast with separate shower and bath, twin sinks and separate WC. The toiletries were Charlotte Rhys and even had shaving cream. Numerous thick and soft towers were provided with additional separate ones for the swimming pool or our terrace Jacuzzi. The large bedroom with its very comfy king size bed had a walk in wardrobe with plenty of hanging space , shelves and a room safe. Another giant plasma TV was housed on a cabinet with more storage space. The bedroom, bathroom and lounge all had French doors leading onto a balcony or terrace with fantastic views over the marina and Table Mountain. If you want the best experience Cape Grace is “THE “ venue. One of the best hotels I have stayed in around the world

“Better Than Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2009

This would have been our 4th stay at The Cape Grace, but our first since the new look, all we can say is "WOW" !!!!
The first thing you notice is the massive floor to ceiling painted mural depicting life in the Cape during the time of the Dutch East India Company.
For anyone looking for an authentic South African experience (and not just another 5 star hotel that could be anywhere in the world) the Cape Grace is definitely it.
Those chandeliers are worth the visit, very quirky and totally different. We had drinks at the Bascule bar (when the weather is good you have the option of sitting out at tables under umbrellas with a view of table mountain and the yachts leaving for day trips). We ate at the Signal restaurant on our 2nd night and had one of our best fillets ever. The restaurant comes alive at night, and with a string quartet playing – just set the mood. Our 3rd night was room service (we had had a busy Sunday) how refreshing to see a mix of tapas on the room service menu; we ordered a few options and were not disappointed.
The breakfast buffet or hot menu choice, has everything you could possible want, Oh and those cappuccino’s, one every morning at breakfast and one in the lounge/library with the papers, what a way to start the day. Without doubt our best cappuccino in Cape Town – and we should know.
We could carry on about great location blah, blah, but what truly sets the Cape Grace apart is the management and staff - nothing is too much trouble and everybody has a smile, as they say happy staff, happy guests.
We extended our stay for another night as we could not drag ourselves away…..............TOTALLY AWESOME, well done guys............Can’t wait to return.

“Very good 5 star hotel - location could not be better.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2009

Everything you expect from a 5 star hotel. The location was the best part because it was a short walk to the waterfront and short car drive to the botanical gardens. Also, they will provide a car to take you to/from Tabletop Mountain. You will need to take the trip as soon as the mountain top is clear because it can change very quickly.
If you want luxury and convenience, stay at Cape Grace.

“Top Notch Service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2009

We stayed at the Cape Grace on the final leg of our South African trip and had a great time. The rooms have a nice minimalistic decor and the hotel restaurant serves delicious meals. It has a top location on the V&A Waterfront but what stroke me the most about the place is the high standard of service. On the last day my partner suffered from a migraine and without any additional charges we were given a room for the afternoon until we had to leave for the airport. Top customer service! There is also a good spa along with a lovely pool area.

“Beautiful Hotel, Great Service, So-So Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2009

Cape Grace is a beautiful hotel. The room we had was huge, newly refurbished and very comfortable. The staff was warm and helpful; always smiling. They offer guests a great service: free transportation in a BMW Series 7 sedan to any place within 10 miles of the hotel. The only drawback was the food. It was just okay, not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel.
