“Fantastic First Stop on our Honeymoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013

We arrived very early in the morning and were greeted by friendly staff. Whilst we waited a very short time for our room, we were served with tea and cake in a lovely seating area. Then we were upgraded to a magnificent suite, it was wonderful. Absolutely beautifully decorated and stunning views of the harbour area from all three sides of the suite. Great balcony also! We had a room service breakfast one morning, wow what a spread on the dining table! The hotel was in a great location and they supplied us with umbrellas as we left the hotel each morning. The staff were friendly, helpful and so professional. A wonderful first stop on our honeymoon, many thanks.

The only negative thing we have to say is unfortunately I left a one of a kind pearl and multi stone ring (a very expensive and sentimental ring of my grandmothers, which can never be replaced) on the side in the room on the morning that we left. We rang from the airport to see if they could fetch it and then post it back to the UK but it had already gone. Obviously it was my fault that I left the ring, however I would expect in a hotel of this quality to be able to get the ring back from a room I had vacated just an hour earlier.

Room Tip: We had a corner suite overlooking the harbour - stunning sunrise and sunset pictures! Such a treat!

We stayed at the Cape Grace for three nights, I only wish we had stayed for longer. The hotel is in a great location, is beautifully furnished and has a great team of staff. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. The service was just top class from an amazing afternoon tea in the library to the bonus of a free car service to shuttle you around. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation-we loved it!

I stayed at the Cape Grace for 5 nights, and was pleased with everything that the hotel had to offer. So much so that I think it's disrespectful to refer to the establishment as a hotel as they are so much more. A lot of thought has obviously gone into making their guests stay as comfortable as possible; from the umbrellas ready available in the lobbies and the rooms, the already plugged in hair drier at the dresser, the liquid fabric wash to wash small items, the loofah sponge, the well-served in-room dining service, the free limousine service to destinations with 10km of the hotel...I could go on. Definitely service with a difference.

Came here with my wife when we were house-hunting. Beautiful property with great character and a super location near the V&A wharf. Large room with a cute balcony. The library downstairs has a great book selection, but we were so busy outside that we didn't get to fully enjoy the hotel. Hope we get a chance next time!

As you walk in the door of the Cape Grace, you're treated with carefully studied and discrete attentiveness which continues during your whole stay. The rooms are comfortable, beautifully decorated and equipped to a very high standard. The breakfast was great with a wide range of choices. My only complaint (which the hotel can't be held responsible for) was the arrogance of the other guests - a combination of older American couples on the Royal Train route and clubby English public school business types talking loudly at the bar....

We had the pleasure of staying at the hotel, my wife and I were treated like royalty and the staff made us feel very welcome. The saying ''welcome home'' is a nice touch...
The rooms are spacious and fully equipped, including iPhone/iPad dock... nice touch...
Breakfast was a feast, well presented and great variety.
Overall, we loved our stay and will visit again soon...

For those of us who appreciate quality and luxury this is a most remarkable property in Cape Town. The rooms are magnificent, large with excellent furnishings and amenities. The public rooms are also wonderful, and all the staff are the best you are ever likely to encounter anywhere on the planet. Have never experienced better even at some of the most expensive hotels in the world. The hotel breakfast is excellent with lots of variety and quality foods. However, though the location is waterside you may not have a room with the best view if, like us, your tour company books the cheapest rooms, which Tauck does; that means a room on the side with the hotel main entrance and a low floor. A real plus is that you can easily walk from the hotel to a host of nearby attractions, shopping and restaurants.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on a high floor on the side opposite the main entrance.
