“Best Hotel ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2011

Bad i know writing loads of reviews at once but finally got round to it, stayed here in February - wow what a wonderful place ok a couple of niggles but overall

Pro's

Best pool in the waterfront by miles - comfy beds free fruit and water, actually room to swim!
Comfortable big beds and fab Bathroom - even though expensive hotel they provide washing powder so you don't have to pay for laundry
Limo Service - Drivers especially Trevor were wonderful - Picked us up from Newlands when we got stuck after a game even though we hadn't booked
Staff - Everyone remembers your name - Welcome home everytime you walk back in
Safe and near all the shops and bars in the Waterfront
View of the Marins and Mountain was wonderful

Cons

Breakfast Service a bit patchy when full

Overall - Yes its expensive but trust me its worth it (have previously stayed at V&A, Comodore and Cullinan and trust me am saving my pennis to go back to the Cape Grace out of all of these

The Cape Grace Hotel is an elegant jewel, situated in the waterfront area of Capetown. The hotel boasts modern conveniences with old world service and charm. We received a warm greeting and were made to feel at home by the Hotel staff upon entering the hotel. The staff then escorted us to our room, and provided an excellent orientation of the Hotel, its services and all of the amenities of the room.
The room was luxuriously appointed with many superb features, including french doors which opened to a view of the marina and a spectacular view of Table Mountain. Hotel services were excellent, the staff courteous and eager to please.
The Hotel is conveniently located in walking distance to the lively waterfront area of Cape Town. A courtsey car is available by the Hotel; or you can easily take public transportation to tour the rest of Cape Town.

I stayed at the Cape Grace for four nights at the end of a three-week safari in Kenya and S. Africa. It was a wonderful way to end my trip! First of all, the hotel is in a wonderful location, just a short walk from the V&A Waterfront, the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island, etc. So something is always going on! There are a slew of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is lovely, well appointed and decorated. The fresh African flower arrangements all over the place were splendid! My room overlooked Signal Hill and the harbor. The hotel provides a free BMW car (need to reserve, however) for trips within 20 km which is very handy. I used it on the last day to go downtown to city center to shop. The driver was very helpful in recommending shops and also in giving me tips about getting back to the hotel -- what to do and what not to do in terms of taxis etc. I found the staff to be super friendly and helpful, front desk, reception, restaurant, etc. Afternoon tea in the library is very nice. I enjoyed that on my last afternoon there and felt oh so civilized! The Signal restaurant is very good, if expensive. The sommelier was very helpful with wines by the glass and found one for me that I loved...yum! I would definitely stay again at the Cape Grace!

We spent part of our honeymoon at Cape Grace and loved every moment of it. From the service, to the rooms, to the restaurants - everything was simply brilliant. Cape Town treated us very well, and our honeymoon will be remembered!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Cape Grace in August 2009. Everything about this property was unrivaled. The service was incredible and I was greeted by name every time I happened into the lobby. The restaurant and breakfast were excellent and the guest room was picture perfect. I had an incredible view of table mountain. I also took advantage of the hotel car service. Included in my room price was the ability to have the hotel drivers take you anywhere within 25 miles. I would definitely recommended getting this package. It was a huge help to me during my stay and the drivers were fantastic. Overall, it was truly the trip of a lifetime. I seriously thought, I don't know what I ever did to deserve to stay at such an amazing property.

Beautiful setting in Cape Town Harbor. Perfect walking distance to restaurants and night life. We had a large suite which was very comfortable for our family of four with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. Nice private outdoor terrace. We ate breakfast in the hotel which was very nice. Room service was lovely as well.

What a magnificent hotel to stay in.......so luxurious and yet friendly with extremely helpful staff. Spent 5 nights here with friends and it was one of the best holidays. One highlight was chartering the hotels yacht for a couple of hours ....watching the sunset ,drinking champagne-magical. The views of Table Mountain at the back are stunning and any trips we wanted help with were done quickly and efficiently. They even recorded the rugby for us as we were booked into a restaurant at the same time as the end of the game!!! If you were contemplating staying here you would not be disappointed. Fabulous .

Room Tip: At the rear of the hotel overlooking the harbour and Table Mountain.
