Having read many of the mixed reviews I had to write a short note to say how much I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is located so close to Table Mountain you can almost touch the tablecloth cloud. Great photo opportunity!!! Its in a very quiet area above the financial district and well away from the centre of town which can be quite un-nerving late at night. The premises are protected by their own security guards and a gate system. The reception are very welcoming with chilled water and fresh fruit. They were very helpful in getting me to the rugby ground also. The Studio I stayed in was overlooking the reception area which forms a small courtyard around a central roundabout. The rooms are being refurbished block by block sadly my block is the last to be done, but the room was clean and tidy with TV, toiletries, fluffy towels and lots of hot water. They are gradually changing the pink exterior to a more pleasing cream colour as the refit the place. The 2 pools were clean and had freshwater, the higher pool at the back of the hotel is a bit exposed so you will need sunblock!! The smaller pool behind reception is more shady with clean towels and sunbeds available. The breakfast is a buffet style, with eggs made to order with a big smile!! Great international selection with great fresh fruits, meats, sausages, juices and excellent tea. I would recommend sitting in the shaded area for a real pleasent breakfast. The evening food was good but the setting is a little 'canteen like' for my liking so I would suggest eating around the V&A or over in Camps Bay. I would suggest hiring a car at the airport, as its very easy to drive in Cape Town and its cheaper than in Europe The Bar is not expensive around £7 for a great bottle of export quality wine, £1 for 75cl sparkling water or a beer. Plenty of on-site parking areas to keep your hire car safe. Overall I would recommend this place as I had colleagues staying in Camps Bay Studios and they were a rip off by comparison. I paid £45 per night B&B.
