We stayed at this hotel as a last minute option for a weekend getaway. It has a great view of the city in front and at the back of Table Mountain. The hotel offers free parking, and there is plenty to go around, also undercover. I saw a pool although we did not use it. The rooms are spacious with all the basic amenities although it has a tired look about it. Checking in and out was a nightmare. There is not enough staff for the front desk and on checking out some of the management staff were screaming at a staff member in the back. (Otherwise the staff was very helpful throughout though.) You’ll still have to drive into Cape Town (about 5km from the V&A Waterfront) - you cannot walk as it is right on the highway. You might not want to stay here on a first visit to Cape Town because it is essentially in a suburb and not in the city, otherwise I’d say the hotel is a good base for day trips given its location; it is conveniently situated with easy access from De Waal Drive and Eastern Boulevard.
