I generally use this Garden Court as it gets me out of the city bowl. After a day of meetings in the city, it is good to be back at the hotel and look out at the harbour / ocean.

It conveniently located next to the highway, so getting into and out of the city, water front or sea point is a breeze.

Staff are friendly and know Cape Town well – Some of the staff have been there for a number of years, so there is recognition for repeat guests.

I find the breakfast pretty good.

Room Tip: Ask for 6 / 7th floor with a sea view

My family and I have a wonderful stay at your hotel from the 13th to 19th of April 2013. On our arrival we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist and the check-in was so perfect and speedy, there were no hickups. Our room was cleaned and the lighting fine, not dark not bright.

regarding breakfast i was very delicious and good or nice. there was a wide choice or a variety of food for all the kinds of people staying in that hotel.

dinner was extra ordinary, it was a buffet. on Wednesdy, 17 April my graduating at one of cape Town universities and I took her together with her friends and my friends too book a table for twenty and it was such a beautiful and gloomy night and we enjoyed ourselves on a buffet.

i'm intending taking my family again for a longer period now.

regards.

We found this hotel in a great position easy to get to the water front. Not too far from the airport, also easy to get around to visit other places. The breakfast was great and over all very good value for money. We would book again if we come back to Cape Town.

This is an old-ish hotel, so everything feels old. The reception was really helpful and friendly, even at 10pm when I was checking in. The concierge desk stayed on the phone with me to help with directions until I found my way to the hotel. There was ample parking available within easy access of the hotel entrance. Checking in was a pleasure.

I ordered dinner, which was dreadful and fell asleep waiting for my juice which was forgotten from my order. The room itself was comfortable and well laid out. It had everything I needed. I was booked into a standard room, so I'm guessing that as you go higher in the room options, they get even better. I had two very comfortable double beds to myself.

Breakfast was good and can accommodate every taste. The cooks were really friendly but the waiters were abrupt and impatient. They do not greet, do not offer help even when you clearly need it. They ignored me and continued having a lovely chat amongst themselves and completely ignored guests. When at last I asked about something, I was responded to with "Don't you know....?". If I knew I wouldn't have asked. I made it my mission to avoid interacting with them.

Reception is full of smiles and assistance but beyond that, they were let down by their other team members on the restaurant floor. Everything was great and hence the "Very Good" rating. If had to score the wait-staff in the restaurant, they would get a "Terrible" rating due to their rudeness and total inefficiency. Overall a very good stay.

Room Tip: Choose a room that faces away from parking lot. It can keep you awake with all the cars coming in an...

We stayed here for the weekend of the argus cycle tour.on arrival check-in staff were friendly ,competent and very efficient.we had our room in good time.i had stayed in this hotel maybe about 25/30years ago and I was really surprised to find the hotel superbly maintained.the rooms are standard but not cramped.interior decorating is smart.bathroom is neat and modern.the view of table mountain in the mornings are simply breathtaking and priceless.breakfast area is spacious .breakfast spread was good with a halaal section for Muslims .concierge was friendly and helpful.the manager was very accommodating allowing us a late checkout due to the cycling race.overall the hotel is centrally located ,easily accessible and most of all value for money.thumbs up to them.will definitely visit again and recommend to family and friends.
