“Absolutely divine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night and it was absolutely divine. We were in room 1205. From when we arrived the staff were all so friendly, the hotel is beautiful, clean, smells nice and there is fresh ice tea on hand. The room itself is so beautiful - shades of greys, with beautiful artwork and furniture. We started off having a workout at the next door gym (where all the equipment is new and clean), then a massage at the spa which is open till 8pm. Then dinner at Dash. The food beautiful to look at and tastes amazing!
Then a wonderful night's sleep : firm bed, quiet, dark room, air-con, nice tv. Then woke up to a great breakfast: fresh fruit, eggs, salmon, cheeses, bread, fresh fruit smoothies, delicious coffee.

All in all couldn't have asked for a better stay. Highly recommended.

Good hotel. If 5 starts is a must for you, Queen Victoria is your choice. If you can live with 4 stars, Victoria and Alfred Hotel (sister property of Queen Victoria) is probably a better choice as far as the location is concerned. Not that Queen Victoria is such a long walk from V&A waterfront, but Victoria and Alfred is right there in the middle of everything and is generally cheaper. One remark about the bathroom - the shower door was not installed properly which on the first day caused a little flooding.

Thank you for having taken the time to write a review in respect of your stay at the Queen Victoria Hotel. This gives me the opportunity to monitor our service to guests.

Your complimentary remarks regarding our two hotels are sincerely appreciated. I'd like to also apologise for any inconvenience caused with the shower on your first day, I hope this did not detract from your overall experience at the Queen Victoria Hotel.

My wife and I stayed four nights here as the start of our 2 week holiday to SA. We were a little worried when our taxi turned into a car park around the back of the stadium on first arrival, thinking we had chosen a bad spot. However we soon discovered that we were on a small hill next to the V&A waterfront, which could be accessed in literally 2 mins from our hotel front door by walking through the courtyard the hotel shares with its smaller sister hotel the Dock. This means it's perfectly located for the amenities and attractions of the waterfront but also nicely set back to avoid the noisiness that tends to happen there later into the evening. The hotel itself is modern and seems to be quite new in terms of its decor. We were really pleased with the size, cleanliness and general condition of our room, and the restaurant was excellent for the included breakfast. An additional (perhaps unsung) benefit of staying here is you can use the restaurants and facilities of the sister hotels on the waterfront. The Dock over the courtyard has a pool which overlooks the waterfront, and the Victoria and Alfred has a restaurant right on the dock looking up at Table Mountain, so you can pop down there if the weather permits.
Generally very much recommend

Awonderful hotel in a little backwater, yet close to the waterfront, staff are to be congratulated on really good all round service.Mr Signs smile on arrival brokered a very special hotel, the only let down was the lighting in the bedrooms, bar and restaurant very nice.

Room Tip: Rooms I would imagine are fine all round certainly the three rooms we occupied were first class.

Perfectly located near the Waterfront. Service was impeccable and we found the staff to be very helpful and efficient. Rooms were very stylish / modern and clean. Bathrooms were spacious, however, the toiletries / shampoo can be improved as per my wife. Would stay there again.

The queen victoria hotel is located right by the waterfront. The rooms are modern, clean and luxurious.
My husband and I used this hotel for our wedding night, and then a few nights after that too.

The staff were also very willing to offer assistance. Our biggest issue was learning how to turn the shower on! (just turn the knobs to select the shower head you want to use!)

Highly recommended hotel and would definitely stay here again

Room Tip: The rooms all seem to be great

The Queen Victoria Hotel is the newest addition to Newmark Hotel’s portfolio, which offers a myriad of ideally located upmarket hotels, other accommodation options and restaurants. What sets this unique five-star boutique hotel apart is the attention to detail given by the creative team responsible for its development, who achieved this through their unwavering passion for awe-inspiring design. From the creative brief of ‘where classic elegance meets contemporary design’, every effort has been made to ensure that the 35-room Queen Victoria Hotel is a haven of calm, luxury and understated opulence amongst the hustle and bustle of Cape Town’s popular V&A Waterfront. The interiors create an ambience of peaceful elegance, through the use of greys and taupes, marble-clad walls, crystal chandeliers, white marble and wooden parquet flooring, not to mention the triple-volume foyer with its dramatic white spiral staircase, glass lift and crystal chandeliers. The signature shade of deep purple has been employed to add a touch of regal eccentricity as an ode to the historic figure after whom the hotel is named. From the food and beverage offering at the hotel’s restaurant and bar, Dash, to the interior aesthetic, the Queen Victoria Hotel embodies a sense of international flair fused with local flavour.
