“Best Mall in Cape Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

I live not far away and do all my shopping here. Its big, but not that big that you can't find your way around. It has all kinds of stores, something for everyone from fashion to fun to hobbies to groceries and a host of good restaurants and the biggest movie cinema in Cape Town too.
Parking can be expensive, but not as bad as some of Cape Town's other malls, and you get about 90min free if you buy something and get your ticket validated at Pick n Pay. Best to avoid on the first weekend of the month (or be in at 9am and out by 11am latest) or you will be swamped by Capetonian families spending their monthly pay cheques.

“HUGE!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

Canal Walk shopping centre is enormous. If you want to have a good look around give yourself at least 4 hours. There are many shops, restaurants, and things to do here. Give yourself a welcome break at one of the restaurants. The food is usually pretty good. Take time to look at the canals outside; its the main point of difference with this shopping centre and should not be overlooked. If you're not sure ask the help staff at the information desk. They will certainly assist you. As mentioned in other reviews wear good walking shoes.

“Little shopping”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

Parking was a bit hectic. We were in the Centre for about 30min and had to pay R8, which is a bit heavy if you want to pop in for quick shop.

“Your one stop mall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

Canal Walk certainly is big. I'm sure you could comfortably spend the day exploring.

I see some reviewers complain about it having the same old retail stores. This is true, but it also had a lot of unique stores. I think the secret of Canal Walk is the fact that you can find or do most anything you need to do in one place. From restaurants, to banks, to groceries, to furniture, to clothing, to entertainment, etc, etc - it's your one stop mall.

Tip: If you plan on spending less than 90 minutes at the mall, pop into Pick n Pay, make a small purchase and they will validate your parking ticket which entitles you to a free 90 minutes parking.

Enjoy.

“Everything you need”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

Canal Walk is probably the largest mall in the western cape and has a huge variety of shops, restaurants, entertainment, furniture and any other type of shop you may need. There is a spa, many hair salons and nail bars. Be sure to put on comfortable shoes because there is a lot of ground to cover!
