“Best hostel around!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Ap is by far the nicest hostel in the city. It's got an awesome vibe and really friendly staff, the rooms are great, and I've never seen a hostel as clean as this one. I stayed in the female dorm which was awesome, it had a big bathroom on suite and it was great to have one that's just for females. I took a look at their private rooms as well and they're gorgeous! It's close to everything in the city but not directly downtown so you're not kept awake by noise when you want to sleep, and they always have something going on. The kitchen is unbelievable well stocked and organized, and the dorms are awesome. Super comfortable beds and nice clean white linens, and anything else you could need they have. The rooms look exactly like they're pictured in the photos, and there's a great breakfast that's included every morning. It's a really great place run by really great people. I can't recommend it more! If you stay at any other hostel you are missing out!! Lots of love for ap :)

Room Tip: The girls dorm is great if you're looking for some privacy- otherwise both other dorms are reall...

I have stayed at this Hostel many times, it is amazing. The vibe is great, the staff get involved and are so helpful.

The place is clean and there is a variety of room options available- suits everyone.

The bar is always stocked and there is always something fun happening...if it is a good old South African braai or a poitjie it promises to be a good time.

The location is superb...walking distance fomr most restaurants, Greenpoint staduim. A few minutes drive from town and the beach.

I highly recommend this Hostel.

I love this place!! Great staff and the comfiest beds, best nights sleep I have ever had in a hostel. Dorm rooms are so much nicer than any I have stayed in before and as a girl it's really nice to be able to opt for a girls only dorm. Double rooms are also really beautifully decorates and comfy, definitely worth a few extra pennies. The pool in the back garden is the perfect place to catch a few rays with a couple of cold ciders from the bar :)
If you are coming to Cape Town you really should stay here, you are in a great location and there are a huge amount of tours that can be booked at the tour desk - I had great experiences with the shark diving and then wine tour! Highly recommended. :)

Room Tip: If you have the budget and want a bit more luxury, go for one of the double ensuite rooms and you wo...

I stayed in Cape Town for two weeks, and picked this one for the last few nights of my stay. The beds (mattresses) are unbelievably comfortable. The whole place feels clean. It's the most well-equipped kitchen I've yet to encounter in a hostel. The kitchen is clean and has two separate stovetops so you aren't fighting with others for them during popular meal times. Breakfast in the morning is included and is excellent, includes juice, cereals, and fresh cruise salad.
Plenty of pantry and refrigerator space for everyone.
Lockers in the rooms are huge and easily fit everything you need. They also have outlets inside lockers so you can leave your gadgets locked and charging.
There are two computers upstairs available for use. Internet isn't lightening speed but definitely usable. Internet on wifi available throughout common areas.
Shared bathrooms for large dorms. Pretty clean though.
Sweet rooftop bar and outside patio.
Laundry available down the street. Was pretty quick and clean but not exactly cheap.
Overall, feels nice and clean and luxurious but can fit into a budget travelers plans!
As for location, within walking distance to waterfront, but if you are looking for nightlife you might consider splitting time between long street and green point.

This is my first hostel experience so I can't even compare it to another hostel. The accommodations are exactly as pictured. The beds and bedding were quite comfortable. I stayed in the all female dorm and had a top bunk and had no issues. I enjoyed the private bathroom in the female dorm, but would probably enjoy the four person dorm more for more personal space. Always clean with daily service and staff is around for advice and help.

Location is close to the V&A waterfront, in a good neighborhood, with a grocery market, wine stores, a cafe, and some restaurants around. Not as close to Long Street, if you are looking to be closer to more restaurants and night life, but everything is a quick taxi away.

You cannot even call Atlantic Point a backpackers hostel. It has an unique mix of dorm's and private rooms with ensuite bathrooms, so every accommodation is met.It is a place where travelers become friends .
The staff ensure that your experience is one of a kind, from checking in to braai (barbecue) night to arranging tours to checking out. They are all very friendly and have heaps of knowledge to share.
The decor is stunning, and attention to detail has been paid to every aspect.Good quality linen, serviced dorms and rooms daily.
VERY centrally located, within walking distance to major shopping centre and some attractions.

This would be top of my list to stay in Cape Town EVERY time.

Room Tip: Ask for the ensuite rooms for families and couples who want a bit of privacy.
