“Blimey. Something special”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Stayed here on business (lucky me) and boy, this is a very nice hotel. The staff are fabulous - very friendly, smiley, helpful and welcoming. Rooms are wonderful, food is outstanding and it is 2 min walk from some 'spicy' nightlife of Long Street (be careful), and within 5 minutes drive of the cable car up Table Mountain. If you can wangle a mountain view, even better. There is a pool, not heated so in the winter is chilly, and a gym but it was out of action when we were there - but they had a free transfer to and free entry of a Virgin Active gym. Wonderful and glad I didn't have to pay!

Room Tip: Ask, no demand, a mountain view...

This hotel has very large rooms, is very neat, clean and unique. Located in a great section of Cape Town it is a short walk to a very nice botanical garden and near restaurants and stores. The exterior rooms have large windows that offer views of Table Top Mountain. The interior rooms have large views of the interior courtyard. The bar has a fantastic deck with large cushioned chairs that make socializing and having drinks under the star lit night an enjoyable experience. Each room has large flat screen TV's, desks, lounging chairs and countertops that glow at night with lights that light it up from underneath. The shower is very large with a rain showerhead (no door on shower - nice!). There is a deep tub for those that want to soak. I highly recommend this hotel and a unique non-chain hotel experience. The breakfast buffet offers a very large selection of food and adjacent to it is a coffee bar that will provide you great tasting cappuccinos, espressos and American coffee (for breakfast or to-go)

Room Tip: Ask for a Table Top Mountain view room. Also take the hotel taxi to Camps Bay. Its just a few dollar...

We arrived at the Hotel and was amazed by the sheet size. Decor was very clean and neat but looked cold. We were served welcome drinks which was delicious. The briefing was not very informative. Had to ask what Receptions number was. No facilities were explained.
Room:
The rooms are huge with 2 TV's!
A nice little lounge area to watch TV or host friends for a drink.
Love the docking station
Nice clean walk in bathroom with class doors, walk-shower and lots of cupbaord space available in the room.
Some things in the room was broken...
Our coffee cups were not taken away even after turn down had been in the room...
Restaurant:
Dinner was served and was great, waiters knowledge of food was not all great
They did however keep our glasses full!
Breakfast the next morning was nice. Nice variety on the buffet
Pool:
The pool has great views of the City. And I love the touch of nature they brought in with the artificial grass.

Room Tip: I stayed in a Deluxe Room which is very spacious and my view was towards the City. Some rooms show o...

We stayed at this property after a safari in Hoedspruit. What a great property! From the time that they picked us up at the airport, everything was superior class. We were upgraded to a gorgeous deluxe suite that was extremely spacious, with a view of Tabletop mountain. The decor is Art Deco and my wife thought that the loveseat in the elevator was "cool". Breakfast in the hotel was reasonably priced, but if you wanted something less expensive, there is a McDonald's within a 2 minute walk. The view from the rooftop pool is fantastic.

The hotel is within a short walk to the downtown shopping area and around the corner from the South Africa Museum, a beautiful park and a few embassies. Any attraction or area that you would want to go is either a short bus or cab ride away. Bus stop is right outside of the hotel.

On a final note, my wife took advantage of the spa services and swears that they gave her the best massage that she ever had! Definitely will return to this property soon.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of Tabletop. If available they will happily accommodate.

Like I've said to plenty of people before, African Pride 15 on Orange Hotel is a true hidden gem. It is simply a great Hotel, with great food, and beautiful bedrooms, you really can't ask for more. Would def come back when the weather is hotter to use to the rooftop pool.

I could rave about this hotel ALL day long. Unassuming from the outside, but don't let that fool you. We have traveled all around the world and stayed in some amazing places. THIS hotel just has something special. The beds are to die for. We struggled to get up ;-). The shower is heavenly. Our room was incredibly spacious and beautifully laid out. The service and food were outstanding. Would love to stay here for a very long time. Close to everything. Attention to detail 20/10.

As a group of Comair employees, it is a very difficult task to arrange for 6 colleagues to get together to arrange a meeting,
let alone, a meeting away from home. (Gauteng))
After all the arrangements were made, expectations of staying at a relatively “nice” hotel were rather high,….
So on walking into 15 On Orange, all expectations where exceeded.
I made the reservation with Melvyn van der Merwe, who is relatively “new” at Protea Hotel Central Reservation” , and although,
I requested to stay in Durban originally,… there was an Indaba taking place in Kwazulu Natal, and so the reservation for 6 bedrooms was amended, and rebooked for Cape Town,
With no attitude, or aggravation, Melvyn assisted me, and made the reservation at 15 on Orange, and even booked the King suite for myself,
I was so privileged to be upgraded to a “special” room.
On check in, Zathanda , Lauren and Cherylee, greeted us with a welcoming smile, and offered to keep our luggage until we could check in, as we had arrived early in Cape Town, and our rooms were not ready, (understandably so). Zathanda, offered us a boardroom, to work in, (complimentary might I add), and the one lady, that had joined us from Cape town, and did not need accommodation, was offered, that her parking ticket be stamped (exempted) for the day,- This was truly going, above and beyond what any guest would expect from a hotel, but what definitely adds to the magical touch of Protea hospitality.
I would also like to add that the girls looked absolutely stunning in their uniforms, and professional in their approach to not only us, but to other guests too.
When using the boardroom, we were also offered, an extention cord, and Ross, came to show us how to connect the TV to our laptops, - also being courteous, and helpful.
Tanduxolo, - brought our meals to us in the board room, which was also unexpected, as we had ordered food from the Cinnamon coffee bar, and I assume, were expected to eat there, however, we continued, uninterrupted in the boardroom, with lots of work which we had to complete, and this aided to our uninterrupted work flow.
I would like to thank you, and compliment you, on your hotel, with the feather plumed lampshades, the executive styled staff, and the manner in which, you make every guest feel like royalty.
