“Very good hotel, great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2014

Being familiar with the One&Only brand, I have to admit this one is not my favorite one for it isn't as boutiquy and charming with a feeling of uniqueness as other ones I have experienced. However, once you stop comparing it to other hotels of the same brand and just look at it, the hotel is just fantastic ranging from its service to the view it has on Table Mountain without mentioning the size of the rooms and the quality of the food (which isn't always great in Cape Town).
Don't hesitate one second if you landed in Cape Town, this hotel remains a reference.

Attention to detail is what makes this hotel stand out , I stayed on the island ,whilst friends and myself enjoyed all Cape Town offers my wife and her friend enjoyed soaking up the sun by the pool overlooked by table mountain and was looked after by one of the best waiters I have had the pleasure to meet ,He attended to their every need , this humble and fun gentleman was called Lebo and would like to thank him for all the service.

One of the best hotels in Cape Town. The rooms are very spacious and beautifully decorated. Very friendly people, good service, excellent location. Hop on hop off bus stops next-door at the Sea Aquarium !!
Every interesting sight in the Waterfront you can do by foot.
We had 2 rooms with a door in between for our kids of 3 and 7, this was really good.

Try the mixed desert in Nobu restaurant!!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the island. You will be close to the pool

Beautiful property with great views and table mountain. Very family oriented from the heated pool, high chairs in Rubens restaurant and the kids club.

Definitely my number one choice for a hotel in CPT. We've been three times now and always love it.

Nobu restaurant is a bit disappointed and nothing like the one in DXB. Stick to Rubens where the menu selection is better and good quality.

High tea is amazing!

I agree with one reviewer that there aren't many beds available at the pool on a nice day. Enjoyed seeing the security guard in the area too

Wow what a fantastic place. I can not have asked for a beter day. 5 stars all the way. Thanks to the amazing people at the Vista Bar & Lounge. The afternoon tea was simply out of this world. It was a feast for all the senses. So much attention to detail. We where a big group and Ryan our manager and Monica our waiter made us feel like super stars. Even received a tour by a very informative Matt.
Can't wait to came back.

Good location, island rooms are BiG, spacious, wonderful rooms. Cannot criticise them in any shape or form. Clean, good service, comfy bed.....and even a complimentary nespresso machine in the room! 10/10 on accommodation. Pool...lovely BUT not enough sunbeds for guests at busy times such as weekends. If you are staying at a hotel like this you expect to be able to get sunbeds. Day 1, 9am.....beds covered with random magazines and towels, no-one on them...and only about 3 spare places. Ridiculous. Clearly something was going amiss! Next day...lots of spare sunbeds...someone had clearly read someone else the riot act! Not surprisingly!! The pool area is lovely. Food is above average but nothing to get too excited bat and takes ages to arrive. You will get lots of apologies about ovens breaking and "jokes" if they think your patience is wearing a bit thin (!), but the food is alright. Breakfast buffet is very good. Large selection, good quality, great customer services lady who keeps asking everyone if they are fine (and she is so nice, you just don't want to say anything apart from perfection!) it is good though that they do have a manager asking for feedback and it shows an eagerness to improve the experience. And I genuinely think that she listens to the comments that are made.

Room Tip: I like the island rooms. No major views but really spacious and close to pool area

This place gets great reviews and it certainly deserves them. We had arrived in Cape Town after a cruise with parents who were unwell and not very mobile. Our options for activities beyond the hotel were therefore limited. We did manage to see a bit of the town but, importantly, had the most wonderful time in and around the hotel. Reuben's restaurant was splendid. Try the liquorice ice cream! We also had a fine Japanese feast next door in Nobu. The small Isola restaurant by the enormous pool did smashing hake and chips and the poolside life there was terrific. Only afterwards did we realise we'd been splashing about beside Bruce Springsteen.
On the occasions when we were able to get out and into town, the proximity of the waterfront and of the on-off tour bus kiosk made everything simple for us and we enjoyed looking back down at the hotel in the distance from the top of Table Mountain, the reverse of the fabulous view we had from our enormous room & balcony every morning.
Lots of helpful staff who left us smiling after our interactions and I developed a great fondness for the G & Tea cocktails in the splendid Vista Bar in the foyer.
Some very minor niggles but nothing worthy of remark here. I would love to return to Cape Town and would certainly stay at the One&Only.

Room Tip: We had amazing rooms on the first floor, above Reuben's restaurant. I have never had such an eno...
