“Boutique hotel near waterfront.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

We stayed two nights at Vila Zest and had a wonderful time. The hotel is well located and within few minutes by cab to any major attraction. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. The breakfast has a good selection of breads and hot meals. My only note to those who like some privacy: their quirky opened bathroom layout can be a bit weird if you want some privacy.
But the hotel is really well managed by Michelle and Janice. They are also great source of information about Cape Town. Also can not forget Gilbert who stays in the front desk at night. He has a lot of information to share as well and very very helpful. Thank you Villa Zest to make our quick stay in Cape Town so wonderful.

A great little place to stay. The room was large, with a huge bed, decor minimalist yet stylish. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and offer advice. The communal parts of the villa are very relaxed, comfortable and stylish. A nice balcony and lovely light and airy breakfast room. Breakfast served until 12 which was a nice change and good for a lie in! Good and tasty breakfast selection. There's a sweet pool and loungers in the garden, also a little Moroccan seating area where you can order drinks, even late in the evening. The security guard was very friendly and helpful. Overall a very relaxed vibe. Good and convenient location and some parking (although its on street some of the time). We would recommend Villa Zest and would love to go back!

I choose the Villa Zest after reading the great reviews here and wasn't disappointed. The hotel interior was very modern with excellent, quirky displays of 70s & 80s gadgets in the main corridor :) My room was at the back over looking the garden but there was very little noise from the main road which could be seen a few gardens away. Each room has its' own design with modern decor and a lovely bathroom with walk in shower and tub. Not sure if all rooms have the same though. The hotel location was very good with the Waterfront and city centre just 15 - 20 mins walk away plus parking was easy with off-street bays.
As well as a nice lounge next to the breakfast area there was a top floor seating area with views over the local roof tops. This was shaded as well so a nice place to relax during the day if need be. The garden and pool were immaculate and the perfect location to sit, read and chill out during the day or evenings.
The staff were very friendly and attentive making my stay lovely and relaxed. They offered plenty of advice on local attractions and things to do / not to do .The front desk staff were able to order cabs for me when needed which arrived in about 10 mins.
All in all I'm glad I choose this hotel and would stay there again with no hesitation! :)

Villa Zest has wonderful service. The people are friendly, helpful and well-trained. The inn is frankly quirky. Where else is a bathroom and bedroom combined and there is no privacy for using the toilet or showering. Our room was tiny with no chest of drawers for storage. Regardless, the people are so helpful and friendly one cannot help but fall in live with this odd little inn. There is a lovely back courtyard with a small (ice-cold) pool and lounge chairs. There is a very quirky "fire feature" that resembles three oversized Bic lighters stuck in a pile of white rocks that they call a fireplace. Still, it is always cheerful and pleasant as no request is too difficult for the helpful staff. Breakfast is a delicious, well-prepared treat to start your day.

I stayed there for 2 nights while in Cape Town for work based on the trip advisor reviews I read. I loved it, it was like staying to someone's super stylish house.

My room was lovely and very comfortable and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They also gave me great restaurants recommendations: do try Beluga near the hotel. You get your first drink on the house as well!

The communal areas: breakfast room/ lounge, roof terrace and pool garden were lovely, the hotel was not busy and I was able to relax and enjoy my time there.

We came from a cruise and decided to stay a night in Cape Town. and here again Trip Advisor was a great help. We like small, nice hotels and this was one in gthe centre of Cape Town.
The staff was very helpful and advised us about restaurants, things to do in a short time etc.

Room Tip: We had a nice room on the first floor but think that the rooms at the swimming pool are nice also

I really rate this hotel after my recent stay and great experience. Very friendly staff and helpful to advise and assist in working out a schedule, nothing is too much trouble and there is a really relaxed feel to the place. Take up the 300 rand offer to / from airport as the cabs charge similar and you get piece of mind.
