“A great boutique hotel with a personal concierge service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

I wrote a glowing review of Villa Zest a year ago when our family of six stayed there for three nights. When my wife and I decided to return to Cape Town for a short vacation this year, we had no hesitation in making a repeat visit to VZ.
All of the positive aspects of our last visit remained (bright modern decor, safe convenient location, scrumptious breakfasts and friendly welcome) but the one aspect that stood out was the personal service offered by Michelle Cronje and her team (a special mention for Ilana and Janese).
From the moment that I made our booking, the VZ team were available online (at no extra cost) to help me book almost every aspect of our vacation (including airport transfers, car / scooter hire, township tour & restaurant reservations).
You won't get better anywhere in the world. Thank you Villa Zest for making our return trip to Cape Town such a success.

Room Tip: Studio 54 is an exceptionally nice suite located on the first floor next to the lounge / breakfast r...

My wife and i just spent 3 nights at Villa Zest and had a very nice time. Gilbert poured wine, found restaurants and filled us in on the local culture. During the day Janice ( hope we got the name right!) helped us plan our days and whipped up some breakfast as well. Moring coffee was great as well as the great combo buffet and cooked breakfast combo. For that extra personal touch Janice ran around the block to give us our hat that we left behind - thanks Janice, that was super nice. The villa in in a quiet residential area with a short 10 minute walk to the waterfront. we had a rental car delivered to the villa and parking was available. We would definitely stay again - the combination of the staff and the hotel would be tough to beat. Geoff and Jane

We took 2 of the just 7 rooms in this hotel for 11 nights from Xmas 2012 and have only praise for this great hotel. Every staff member was fabulous, the hotel was spotlessly clean, and its a 15 minute walk or £3 taxi to the Waterfront with its huge range of shops and restaurants. Free Internet, free parking and so many other pluses make this hotel outstanding. We didn't expect a huge multi concierge, multi manager hotel, but what we got was a wonderful caring friendly competent staff who from check-in to departure made this a real home from home for us in Cape Town. And who provided the best service we have ever experienced.
Cape Town itself is great; Robben Island and our ex-inmate guide were both humbling and inspirational, (though you must book in advance) . Table Mountain was breath-taking, though again pre-booking (subject to the weather forecast) enables you to queue jump.
Our holiday is over, and we now have to endure the interminable flights back to Manchester, but we will carry only the fondest memories of our friends at the Villa Zest.

Perfect location for me - just 10 minutes walk to the Waterfront.

But what sets this hotel aside is the quality and friendliness of the staff. It has to be one of the top 3 hotels I've reviewed on TripAdvisor. (one of the others was also in South Africa).

From the warm welcome to the modern design of the room, I loved it all. I even went into the pool, which is very unusual.

I had an early start on the last day and they prepared a takeaway breakfast which was excellent.

Room Tip: I had the Jackie Brown.

I stayed in Cape Town for a conference in Feb 2012. Staying at Villa Zest was by far the best decision I made. Every single person I met while at the hotel was incredibly helpful and friendly. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel. It's very well located. The rooms are very cool, the breakfast is amazing and the pool is a plus!
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, I'm sure you will enjoy your stay!

My hubby and I had the pleasure of staying at this lovely place, a home away from home! Very clean, beautifully decorated rooms, great breakfast but most importantly the staff were WONDERFUL! :D

Janese, couldn't have done more to make our stay enjoyable, Michelle, what a warm, kind person! The night staff - great!

I would highly recommend the Villa Zest, and will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Any room would be great!

+ modern facilities, including gorgeous luxury bathroom
+ outstanding service
+ lovely breakfast included in room price
+ small pool

- central, but slightly off the beaten track location

Stayed at Villa Zest for just one night (sadly!) when we arrived in Cape Town. Though we arrived in the morning, we were able to check into our room early for a much needed nap and shower after an 11 hour flight. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was gorgeous, with a huge bathtub in addition to the large shower.

Staff were amazing and had helped to recommend several restaurants for dinner the night we stayed. They made a reservation and when we arrived sorted a taxi for us. We had a car and were able to use the hotel parking (they have a few spaces). It was a bit of a walk to the waterfront (10 minutes or so) which we didn't mind, but may detract if you want to be right in the action.
