“Beware of credit card frauds”

Stayed in 2 bedroom apartment, was big enough with well equipped kitchen, bedroom small with not so comfortable beds, breakfast does not have Indian items. not much for vegetarians. coach service not available always for drop at main market even not at designated time. Gave my credit card authorisation for my payment to courier company. but which was used fraudently by someone from their staff

Thank you for your feedback regarding the hotel and facilities. However I am very concerned about your comment relating to credit card fraud. I hope you would agree on this forum that there is absolutely no proof whatsoever that this credit card fraud took place at our hotel. We took it upon ourselves to help you with this situation and our security manager has been in constant contact with you in order to assist in any way we can. We have carried out a full investigation; interviewing our staff, checking camera footage, we have been in contact with our bank etc and it was clear by the evidence provided that the incident occurred outside of Cape Town.

I do hope that with the assistance of your credit card provider you will get the incident resolved.

Stayed for 10 nights having booked through booking.com at a very good rate. The staff - especially the customer services manager Sedick and the general manager Thomas - were efficient and very approachable - which filterd all the way through the hotel staff - who all seemed genuinely interested that we were enjoying our stay. The kitchen faciities seemed over the top but was great for early morning tea/coffee, toast and chilled wine ! - better than most homes - and the room was cleaned and prepared in the evening to a very high standard.
The location and accessibility were great. If i were scoring out of 100 this would get 99 (some very small things needed attention but were all sorted quickly and with good grace)
Our room did not have full curtains in the living area which meant that daylight filtered into the bedroom early in the morning - not a problem if you don't need total darkness to sleep - but I have a feeling that if we'd mentioned it a solution would have been found. I haven't had such a good experience outside Switzerland

Located walking distance from the Waterfront this hotel
Is simply fantastic. Booked it on booking.com and stayed here for 4 nights.

Everyone working here are very friendly and helpful.

The suites are great. The free shuttle can get you to most places around Cape Town.

We stayed 4 nights as part of a group travelling through Southern Africa. Following a warm welcome from the manager and staff we were gobsmacked when we entered our room. It was ideally set out with a separate bedroom and en-suite plus a living area with a full kitchen including dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. All appliances were a top quality German brand. We would certainly recommend Cape Royale to anyone wanting a top quality hotel conveniently located near the V and A Waterfront.

My family and I visited Cape Town in November 2013 and had a fantastic stay at the Cape Royale Hotel for 7 nights. The hotel had all the facilities you would require and more, and the suite we stayed in was modern, spacious and well equipped. It was in a great location only a short walk from the VA waterfront, with other restaurants and shops just next door.

Breakfast at the hotel was great with a wide variety of choices on the menu. We also ate at the hotel restaurant 'bistro 1800' many nights, as the steak & food there was fantastic. It has to be the best steak we have ever eaten! lf you eat there on a Friday evening you will get an amazing live singing performance from Bevan Senior Sous chef and Ivor. Thanks to Joshua for making us so welcome with his great service in the restaurant, enthusiasm and for being so helpful with his great knowledge on food and wine.

The staff at the hotel were really efficient and extremely helpful. We have never felt so welcomed and they always had a smile on their faces which definitely helped make our holiday. We loved being welcomed back every day by smiley doorman Philimon. Jesse and Cindy were fantastic on the tourist desk helping to organise tours and day trips around Cape Town and further afield, nothing was too much trouble. Ireshad the receptionist and Sedick from guest services were always there to assist with a smile and ensured we had everything we needed.

We would love to visit Cape Town again and would definitely stay at the Cape Royale!

Background/Booking: My husband and I traveled to Cape Town with two friends. We found Cape Royale after searching a few Internet sites (including TripAdvisor.) We made our reservation directly through the hotel’s website and took advantage of a MasterCard promotion for a free night.

Check-in: We were welcomed to the hotel with a gong and a round of applause! And we were able to check-in early, always love that!

The Hotel: Cape Royale has a great location in Cape Town. It is in Green Point, very close to the Cape Town Stadium and the V & A Waterfront. Hotel highlights included a rooftop deck, with a pool and bar, as well as a fitness center and spa. (The fitness center is small, but was never crowded during our stay.) Our two-bedroom suite was perfect for four adults traveling together. It had a modern décor but was comfortable and very clean. Room highlights included two separate bedrooms (each with their own bathroom) and a very large common space with a living room, a dining area and a full kitchen. We also had a small balcony off the living room and one of the bedrooms. (It was nice to step outside and check out the weather before exploring Cape Town.)

Bistro 1800: There was an on-site restaurant at the hotel and we found the restaurant to be just ok. (You can read my review of the restaurant separately.)

Notes: The hotel offered valet parking for a small fee. We had a rental car throughout our stay and never had to wait more than 5 minutes for our car. We always felt safe at the hotel and had no security issues. Our room included 1GB of complimentary Wi-Fi but the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty. Additionally, as this is a “luxury” hotel, I would have preferred unlimited Wi-Fi.

Overall: We had a nice stay at Cape Royale and loved our two-bedroom suite. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel location was a great base for exploring the Cape Town area. I am giving this hotel a 4 out of 5 star rating as I believe that the on-site restaurant and Wi-Fi offerings can be improved. I would recommend this hotel to both family and friends.

We were here for 11 nights from 25th October 2013. It is the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in. Every question was answered promptly and efficiently and there is obvious attention to detail throughout. The restaurant service was also efficient, the staff very welcoming and interested in us. The food was well prepared and the steaks lived up to their promise. I had instant help when I needed it from sorting out gadgets in the room to advice on trips, shopping etc. The room was more like an apartment and was clean and well serviced daily. It was very quiet at night.
We were based a lot of time at the Waterfront and this is within easy walking distance. I never felt unsafe going backwards and forwards even on my own. I agree that the red and blue bus tours are a great way to see Cape Town and its surroundings - the botanical gardens were amazing.
When I returned home I realised I had left an item of sentimental value in the safe. The duty manager I spoke to went personally to retrieve it and ensure its safe return. This was an example of the overwhelming impression that guests are looked after to the utmost degree. Should I travel back to Cape Town I would certainly want to book here again.
