The Holiday Inn Express in Cape Town is a new, modern, and reasonably-priced hotel right in the middle of the business district of Cape Town. It's very close to restaurants, and convenient to the Company Gardens and other tourist sights. Yes, it gets quite empty on the streets in the area after dark and during the weekend, but a major street with a taxi rank is just around the corner, which is very convenient.
If you are driving here, or if you are taxing a taxi, be aware that there are a series of one-way streets around the hotel, and there is only one way in (from the northwest side), so do not be alarmed. If possible, ask for a higher floor, as this will allow for more light and some better views. The included breakfast is decent and includes hot and cold food. The wireless internet is very expensive, but upon check-in, ask for a free 30-minute use pass, which you can use through wi-fi, or at their business center (behind the breakfast area). The staff is friendly, as well.More
