During the soccer world cup we stayed two nights in this new hotel. We enjoyed every moment: helpful and friendly staff, nice modern rooms (we had a a balcony), good breakfast and probably the best is the location in the shopping and pedestrian area of Cape Town. 100% Recommendable!

Although no longer a hidden gem, this hotel is a great option for budget leisure travelers as well as for short overnight business trips in the Mother City. Very good rates, quick service, comfortable rooms, and no fuss no muss attitude. Some rooms have balcony access with good city views - ask when making reservations. Breakfast is not fantastic, could use some improvement, but isn't terrible, still overall a great value. Staff is friendly and location is very central, a number of good restaurants and bars in walking distance as well as the gardens which are lovely to stroll through on a nice sunny day. Internet worked fine, a bit slow on the higher floors so if you need speed stay in lower floor.

It was not a tipical Holiday Inn Express, being from the US, the Holiday Inn Express in Africa is definetly lacking in standards to what they have other places, but what can i say it is in awesome location, walking distances from almost anywhere. The staff at the bar was friendly, and all the staff were great.

This hotel was exactly what we expected from an Holiday inn express. Well situated, very basic rooms, with all you need to spend the night. Just it wouldn't hurt a bigger tv screen.
The only problems with this hotel were:
-The 50 Rand we had to pay per day just to park the car.
-The internet cost, which Holiday inn said it was free. that was so expensive, that 24 hours of internet cost almost as much as the price for the room.
-Because the hotel is located in the city centre, the noise on the streets woke us up almost everyday.

I only stayed one night here, but the hotel feels like a great deal: excellent price (during the World Cup, and still a reasonable £75 per night), completely new rooms, spotless bathrooms, lots of modern amenities… the place even smells nice. Really there is no point in giving details about the room or the facilities. The room is roomy, new, and with that undefined quality that only a chain hotel has. Lots of people complain about the lack of charm or character of chain hotels, but lets be honest: sometimes all you want is a Holiday Inn, a Marriott, or a Hilton. They let you forget about the hotel, and focus on the trip.

Location: The hotel is at St Georges Mall (the main pedestrian street of the City Centre), close to everything. It is a good walk or a short ride to the V&A Waterfront. It is safe, and surrounded by good places to eat, and to shop. I love Cape Town, and would recommend the city to anyone.

Of course you can find little guest houses and five stars hotels all over the city. Luxury, character, beach front location: you can find it all in Cape Town. But, as I said above, sometimes you should care less about the hotel and more about the town. For those occasions, there is nothing like a brand-new place, and this one fits the bill.
