“Wounderful House - Lovely Location - Great Views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2008

Camps Bay was our 1st stop for overnight on our SA Tour 2008.

The property was easy to find in a silent and quiet neighborhood on the end of a dead end street.

We rented the pool suite for a two nights stay. As the name suggests, it is a 3 room apartment, with direct access to the pool. Two bedrooms and in the middle of them the living room with a sofa and an incredible view to the Atlantic Ocean.

Because the house if build hillside, the pool suite is in the basement with direct access to the pool and garden on the front and under the surface of the ground on the backside.

Drinks can be purchased nearly to the cost price in the public living room (that can also be used).

Breakfast is served in the 1st floor, next to the public living room with stunning views to the ocean. It was one of the best breakfasts, that we enjoyed on our 3 weeks SA Tour. Especially the fruit plate was enormous.

If you have any special wishes, like to know if the Cableway to the Table Mountain is open because of windy conditions, Tamara just gave them a call. That is just one example for good hospitality.

If you compare with other properties in Camps Bay (what we fairly did), Fullham Lodge is absolutely worth for money.

We found this beautiful quiete place in the year 2000 and were there for the seventh time now. Tamara and Tina give you a warm welcome and you feel at home from the first minute.
The rooms, all with fantastic sea views, are decorated with love. The view to the sea and Table Mountain from the back are fantastic. Relax in the afternoon at the sunddeck at the every day cleanded big pool, have a glass of good wine there while you are looking the fantastic sundowns.
Tina and Tamara have a lot of very good ideas for your dinner and evening programm as well as where you can go and what you must have seen in the surounding of Cape Town. They help to organise a wine tour or what ever.
The breakfirst is done with love and is very lekker. You are allowed to use the braaiplace if you want. They don't have minibars but a big well sorted bar in the living room instead. Your are welcome to sit in the living room every time to have a drink.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. You always find a parking place in front of the house.
There is no better place to stay in Camps Bay than the Fullham Lodge. I can't wait to be there next year again! It's easy to arrive there but hard to go.

The Fullham Lodge is situated on the edge of Camps Bay area of Cape Town. It is down a quiet cul-de-sac about 15 mins. walk from the man Camps Bay Beach.

It is run by Tamara and Tina who made us feel very welcome and who were knowledgeable about the area with advice on resturants etc.

The room was spacious with a beautiful ocean view and a balcony with the same view. Lovely to watch the sunset from with a glass of wine. The bathroom was also spacious with his and hers sinks and corner bath.

The lounge and breakfast areas were also lovely with beautiful views. This also extended to the pool area and sundeck which were excellent.

Breakfast was varied and included full cooked if you required. There was also an honesty bar which we found to be a nice touch in all the B&B's we stayed at in South Africa.

Tuscany Beach was our favourite resturant.

If you're wondering where to stay in Camps Bay, and you are looking for a clean reasonably priced small Guest House in a quiet cul-de-sac, look no further than Fullham Lodge. The room we had was a little small (well our Whale suite was, but I can't comment on the other rooms) and the only drawback in our room was the combined sliding doors to the bathroom (which was in itself a little dated and in need of a face-lift) which offered little privacy to whoever may have been usung the bathroom at the time ie. you could easily open the door to the bathroom whilst opening the same sliding door to the clothes cupboard ( confused? yes it was a bit that way for us as we never rightly knew which sliding door of the three to open for bathroom or cupboard access). That said, that was the only drawback, as the Lodge offers gorgeous views over the Bay, the whole place establishment was really comfortable and clean, with a sparkling clear swimming pool, and the breakfasts were superb. Tina and Tamarra, the mother and daughter team will make your stay a home-from-home.
