“Lovely Hotel, but ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

3 on Camps Bay is a lovely hotel, but be prepared for a fairly steep walk up from the town, which in high winds can be challenging! Can only concur with everybody else about the breakfasts and the views are stunning (both sea and mountain) plus the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Try to get a sea facing room, but even if you can't the views at the back are pretty good, looki...

We stayed at 3 on Camps Bay for 6 nights recently and it ticked all our boxes. Great location, clean and tidy, very helpful staff and a great breakfast! Even the fact that I have coeliac disease was not a problem, though I did bring my own gluten-free bread (best I have ever had - purchased at the Old Biscuit Mill Market). We loved the lounge and outdoor area, and the honesty bar with reasonable prices was very welcome. We were a bit worried about driving from the airport on our first trip to Cape Town, but the map provided make it a cinch. Our only complaint would be that the door from our room to the hallway rattled badly in the high winds. We improvised with a wad of paper, but some draft stoppers would make for a better night's sleep. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay on the Atlantic side of Cape Town.

Room Tip: We expected a sea view, but got Table Mountain instead, which was not a problem as anyone can go and...

We stayed for (only) 2 nights at 3 on Camps Baye and had a great time thanks to all the team there.
Everyone was very friendly and VERY helpful, the sea view from the terrace is breathtaking, the breakfast was excellent.

We hope to be back soon.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the top floor on windy nights.

We needed two bedrooms as my wifes sister was visiting and therefore opted for the Cottage at 3 on Camps Bay.What a lovely find.!! Excellent location, wonderful views and most importantly, ever present and helpful staff including Lisa who was most helpful. The public areas in the hotel are most spacious and comfortable and the pool area has views which are unsurpassed. The bedrooms are very comfortable with excellent air conditioning.Walking to the beach and restaurants is 5 minutes but the southeaster sometimes makes it difficult especially on the return.
I agree with the previous writer, the honesty bar is a lovely addition!!!

A very nice boutique hotel a 5 min walk from the beach.
Great views of the ocean from the front and table mountain from the back.
The breakfast was great and the honesty bar was a great idea with very reasonably priced drinks. (R15 for a peroni !)

We can't wait to return.

From making the reservation to checking out; our experience at 3 On Camps Bay was delightful. My garden view room was clean and tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable. I particularly loved the choice of Charlotte Rhys products in the bathroom. Although I didn't have ocean views from my room, the shared lounge room upstairs and the pool balcony provided the perfect opportunity to enjoy the magnificent Camps Bay vista with a glass of champagne. My friends stayed in an ocean view suite and it was spectacular.
Each morning we enjoyed a beautifully cooked breakfast and selected from the generous buffet of cereals, fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, breads, condiments and freshly baked muffins or banna bread.
The staff at the hotel make you feel like you've been a guest for years not days.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Cape Town and can't wait to return to 3 on Camps Bay.

I stayed at 3 on Camps Bay the last week in January, 2013 and absolutely fell in love with the place and the people. Very cozy and homey. George and Maria were wonderful and the staff was friendly and nice. Breakfast was awesome! We never missed it! I can't say enough about Camps Bay. Location is perfect and allows easy access to all the sites. Maria was particularly helpful in getting us set up with day trips to the vineyards, safari and Cape Point. Cape Town is an amazingly beautiful place and 3 on Camps Bay was perfect for us. This was my first trip to South Africa and we could not have chosen a better place. I have travelled extensively around the world and Cape Town and 3 on Camps Bay are at the top of my list. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 9. Spectaculr view.
