“Come to Ko-Ka Tsara!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2012

We stayed at Ko-Ka Tsara Bush Camp near Beaufort West for 3 nights recently. The camp had been recommended to us, and we were not disappointed!

The accommodation was lovely, and spacious for 3 adults to share one chalet, and housekeeping were very attentive every day.

Each chalet has a patio area with chairs to sit out on, as well as a Braai area to cook. We found the braai packs available to purchase very good value for money, and the staff accommodated vegetarian needs extremely well also. I've even bought one of the ideas back to the UK with me!!!!

We spent two evenings after having had a braai, gazing at a perfectly star lit sky, in the warmth, with the noise of crickets and monkeys in the distance.

We hired a bike and the golf buggy to explore around the camp which was good fun. We also used the pool area and bar - both of which were very good.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and Gail did an amazing job at organising a game drive at the nearby lodge where again we were made to feel very welcome, and Ahbram (the driver) came in especially on his day off to guide us! What a lovely gesture!

Thank you to everyone at Ko-Ka Tsara for making the start of our holiday touring South Africa absolutely perfect!.

We will be back in the future.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2012

I stayed at this place en route to Cape Town, and was disappointed I didn’t add an extra day to actually enjoy the place. The self standing Chalet was spacious and what impressed me most was that there are many items in the well stocked kitchen and throughout the chalets that a fastidious trawler would expect, but are often omitted by the management. I had asked for a lighter dinner than the full spread they offered, and this was provided with no fuss, at a very reasonable price.
They have bicycles to take out onto the farm which I duly did and soon found out how badly Un-Cycling fit I was as the loose dirt roads are a real challenge. Nevertheless I found myself in a valley with absolutely no noise whosesoever, except a periodic swank of a Goshawk and just took in the absolute tranquility. There is a "tame" Meerkat there (Mienkie) who runs the show, and it was a treat to be up close to her. It was too cold to swim, but the Pool and generally everything was in a good state of order. This is obviously a well managed property directly by the owners, always a good sign. I do hope to return one day.
