We have stayed at the Protea President before and knew exactly what to expect. We were part of a Thompson Tour and someone had forgotten to book us in for our final 3 nights of the tour. The problem was sorted and we had a big room, although downstairs without a lift connection, with a microwave and toaster included! We had also booked an extra 4 nights with Virgin.Cleanliness of the room and bathroom was very good. Breakfast was plentiful and a great variety. Buffets at dinner time were themed and reasonably priced although we mainly ate at the Waterfront. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, including Guus, the transport lady. It was difficult to find sun loungers with a sun-shade - there should be more of them, at least one between two chairs. We like the location of the President because it's out of town and we like to walk by the sea watching the waves crash on to the rocks. A local service bus costing about 8 rands, or a taxi will take you to the Waterfront. Overall we once again enjoyed our stay at the President and will probably use it again when we visit South Africa.
