We went for a Sunday lunch and the restaurant and hotel was deserted until a multi generational group came for a family celebration .
I could not fault my calamari chorizo salad although the calamari seemed more like octopus but that was chunky and not tough .
However my food companions had it bad. Their tuna was not even tuna and certainly not fresh enough to be undercooked as seared tuna.
The key lime pie was incredible - a rubbery green slab that could not be sliced through and a curly pile of shaving cream that defied gravity, slick and oily like a white Elvis wig . We had an entertaining time re shaping the peaks into alps since the cream was truly inedible .
I suppose with non existent guests - the staff wore surprised looks as we walked in - they would not be able to retain good chefs and the ones who were around during World cup were long gone .
Certainly not hotel standard but it was an experience
