5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Only one negative aspect - signage a bit poor - could be there much earlier to enjoy the superb hospitality, luxury room and outstanding service! Preferred hotels in the past, but reconsidering at the moment. Enjoyed my stay and the friendly people - from the owner to the gardener!

Stayed for five days at the Welgewandel Guest House during a business trip.

The Guest House has four large guest rooms. All rooms have air conditioning, fridge, tea/coffee stations, a small study table for your laptop and free wireless Internet. A nice touch is the spa-bath in all the bathrooms. Very limited DSTV channels in rooms although full DSTV is available in the lounge.

Nice breakfast (continental/hot). Please remember to book breakfast in advance.

My reservation was very short-notice and the owner personally fetched and dropped me off at the airport - much appreciated!

Had two problems relating to breakfast not being available because I didn't book it in advance and patio doors that wouldn't open, but both these have satisfactorily been attended to by the owner.

The Guest House is right next to a new shopping mall with a variety of shops, movie theatres and restaurants for evening meals. The Virgin Active Gym is also conveniently close.

Reasonably priced for luxury accommodation and well recommended!

Room Tip: Room 4 on the ground floor overlooks the pool area with waterfall (nice and tranquil after a busy da...

I had a wonderful stay at Welgewandel - an upmarket, luxury guest house in Kimberley. The pictures on their website do not really do justice to this guest house, as I found the rooms to be truly luxurious. Nothing was too much trouble for a young gentleman called Clive - who I assume is the Assistant Manager. He really made sure that I was provided with anything I needed. The first night I requested an extra table to do some work in the room - and this was provided in a jiffy. I personally do not like the little triangular fresh milk cartons that are provided with the courtesy tea and coffee tray, and requested that I be provided with a small jug of fresh milk every night for making tea/coffee. Again - this was done. Supper and Breakfast consisted of generous portions - with attention to detail being given to the presentation of the food.I would highly recommend this Guest House to especially the business sector who need to overnight in Kimberley for a few nights.
