Stayed at Cape Vidal beach camp for a week in June and thought it outstanding!
Cape Vidal location is fantastic, the beach is stunning and because we went during the winter season it was not busy at all. Weather and water was still very warm. Snorkelling was highlight of the stay - saw loads of marine life, moray eel, octopus, sand shark. The reef is right next to the shore so you just swim around it and get out when you please. Fishing is also very popular off the beach, saw one guy catch a 5ft shark in the early morning.
Camp site itself was good - every site has it's own tap for water, and the toliets/showers were clean and had hot water. There is also a shop on site for essentials, but you will need to bring most of your own food.
Surrounding the campsite is a game park and we saw many types of buck aswell as warthog and rhino when driving through. St Lucia (nearest town) has some good restaurants and bars if you want to go out. It is about 20mins drive from Cape Vidal.
Returned for another stay at Cape Vidal in Dec, did not see as much marine life when snorkelling during that time - expect it was because it was high season and there were a lot more people in the water.
