We chose to do the Advantage Whale Watching tour because they claimed to be the only organisation licensed to come close to the whales. We booked the day before the trip. At arrival the next day we were told that the trip would have a delay of 20 min. It turned out to become a delay of 2 hours. They had some mechanical problems with the boat. Because of this we started our tour at 3 pm instead of 1 pm and in wintertime this is not ideal because daylight already starts to become less from 16 h onwards. The whale watching was dissapointing even though it should have been according to the ticket office 'peak season'. We saw whales only from a distance and once the boat tried to come close, the whales dived and didn't show up anymore. We may not have been lucky. Overall, we did spend with 2 adults and 3 kids quite a bit of money to do the trip. Kids get no discount if they have a fixed number of seats on the boat and overall we did spend more than 400 euro for a boat trip of 2 h which we hoped for to be one of the highlights of our trip.
