The owner met us on arrival and showed us to our room. She was friendly and efficient. I was a bit surprised that the price seemed to be slightly higher than stated on the website when booking, but even with the increase it was still cheaper than most other guest houses in Nelspruit.
We were also disappointed that the room was twin room, and not a double as booked.
The room and the linen was clean, but not the best quality. Some of the towels were slightly stained, but they smelled clean and I didn't feel uncomfortable using it.
Magazines, a hairdryer and TV with basic channels were provided in the room. There were no tea and coffee making facilities that I could see, but I didn't ask it may have been in the main house.
A group came in late in the evening and we could hear every word they said from our room. It may be neccesary to request a quiet room if you are a light sleeper.
Breakfast the following morning was very good. The coffee was excellent and the eggs just as I ordered it. Their breakfast sausages were tasty and of a good quality.
I would recomment The Roost if you are on a budget or just need somewhere to sleep.
