“Great little B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014

Owners are very friendly and hospitable. Room (family size) was large. Breakfast cooked to order was excellent, with options including eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, and mushrooms, yogurt, toast, cereal, cheese, juice, and coffee. Nice garden and pool. Location is nice but far away from any shops or restaurants. Honesty bar available at reasonable prices. Laundry for around 50 rand per load (hang dried). Wifi worked well without limits. Would stay here again.

Our son suggested we stay here on our way to Kruger and we stayed again on the way out. It is in a convenient position between Johannesburg and Kruger. Sue & Chris went out of their way to make our stays comfortable. Chris does a marvellous "English" breakfast as you might expect. We had 2 different rooms and both were well clean and well appointed. Sue and Chris can also recommend local restaurants.

Beautiful surroundings and well tended gardens and swimming pool.
Roms are very well appointed - I was particularly impressed with having a 2x magnifying shaving mirror in my air conditioned room.
Breakfast to order - what a pleasure!
Also ordered an evening meal and had the best lamb shank ever!!!
Hospitality bar shows the faith Chris & Sue have in their guests
A real pleasure to stay here

Room Tip: Ask for one of the newly renovated rooms

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We stayed at The Palms for two nights towards the end of a very stressful time. Sue and Chris helped make our stay a pleasant one by going out of their way to make us comfortable. The Palms had secure parking and was inviting both inside and outside. Our room and bathroom were very clean, well decorated and the bed comfortable. The room had everything we needed and made travelling with our toddler a breeze. The rest of the Guesthouse was also very clean and homely and the beautiful sub-tropical grounds well kept. We spent some time in the garden and near the lovely pool and would have swam, had the weather been warmer. The Palms is ideally situated on a hill, with fantastic views yet within a 5-10 minute drive from town and is an ideal base for travelling around the Nelspruit area. The full English fry-up was fantastic and very filling and was served in a lovely dining area, that tended to encourage lingering and good conversation.
The dogs were friendly and a big hit with our boy. We hope to head back to The Palms for a proper break in the future. Would definitely recommend and wish Sue and Chris every success in all their endeavours.

Room Tip: We loved having the option of a strong, separate shower and the semi-sunken bath in Room 5.

Sue and Chris are the masters in service and care! In their nice little Palms Guesthouse they take attention on details and comfort.

We stood there 3 nights and where realy pleased by Sue who cared perfectly on our stay.

Don't ever miss one of the best scrambelled eggs and ham for breakfast in South Africa! :)

Recommend this B&B!

We had a very quick overnight stay, and enjoyed the welcome. Found it very good value at R620 for a twin room.

Driving directions were well explained by phone, and the house is in hilltop in a very nice neighbourhood. It is very tastefully furnished, there's a well stocked bar in the living area. The room was fine, with a big bathroom.

The hilltop setting and garden are beautiful. We appreciated the fact that Chris got up early so we could have a 6.30am breakfast!
