At Old Joe's you get the complete package - beautiful lush setting with amazing views, clean and uniquely decorated log cabins, AMAZING food, super friendly staff, quirky and different interior decorating and Marion and Paul are the best hosts ever!
Old Joe's was food for our souls, thank you, will never forget our time with you!

We have spent a wonderfull holiday at this nice family run hotel. the location is pictorescue, close to a river. It is a paradise for birdwatchers, though me and my wife are not experts in SA birds, as we are from Moscow, Russia, we were very pleased to see Narina Trogon. SA bird lovers will appreciate this fact. The food is very good in Old Joe's Kaia. All meals ale set up stilishly and with greate taste. Mariana and Paul are wonderfull hosts. We felt really at home. I would strongly recomend to stay in this lovely place and definatelly we will return there one day.

On Sat 21 July, 24 Harley Davidson fanatics set off from Johannesburg to spend the night at Old Joe's Kaia. What an amazing evening - superb food and incredible service in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Marian, Paul and Dale are fantastic hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The stunning breakfast on the veranda on Sunday morning just rounded off a memorable stay. After a great send off from our hosts, we returned to Johannesburg with great memories of a wonderful stop-over.
Thanks to all the staff at Old Joe's Kaia.

We recently had the pleasure of spending a night at Old Joe's Kaia while traveling from Kruger National Park to Duban--and I only wished that I could have spent a few extra days there! What a delightful place--and certainly the most delicious food ever! I noticed that it seems to be a favorite place to stay for people escaping JBerg for a nice, peaceful weekend--a good sign because they keep coming back. I loved poking around the gardens--and was especially intrigued with the labyrinth that meandered its way through the grounds. This is a wonderful place to stay--what a treat!

Room Tip: Ask for a room farther away from the main road--it will be quieter--but all of the rooms are very lo...

I travel frequently, in SA and abroad, and stay in many different establishments in different environments. My environment of choice is country, but the experience is often diluted with a lack of attention to detail. OJK is definitely not like that. The hospitality is superb and the food that comes out of the kitchen is nothing short of sublime. There is a marvelous little pub which one tends to get stuck in after a certain hour if one is not careful and the owner/managers have invested loving attention to detail in everything. I love OJK, apart from the fact that it is nestled in beautiful country side. It's home from home for me. Actually, its a better home than my own. :)

Old Joe's Kaia was the choice of some South African friends - we had a great time together, helped along by extremely kind hosts Marian and Paul. The accommodation is very comfortable, the decor gorgeous and the food delicious and beautifully presented. The scenery is to die for; birding wonderful and there are plenty of local sites to visit. What more could one ask for?

We stayed our first night in South Africa at Old Joe's Kaya before heading to the Kruger Park. This a nice place, you have the feeling to live in the middle of a tropical forest. It is so beautiful to wake a up with birds singing... You should definitely try the dinner there, cooked with love and delicious. I can't forget the homemade bread they served with the soup. They have nice wine too. Paul and Mariane make you really feel welcome. We had the possibility to order a nice lunch packet too that we took with us to the Kruger Park...
