We arrived late from England and stayed one night prior to entering Kruger. We were supposed to stay one night after our week in Kruger before flying back to Joberg early the following morning but because of roadworks we decided to book in somewhere closer to the airport. We received brilliant service in finding a place for us to stay and weren't even charged for the night we had booked/changed. It was such a very nice start to our holiday. Everything was clean and tidy and breakfast plenty.
Thank you!

We go on safari often but at Selati we saw things we never have - a lion kill and two different pairs of mating leopards. What an experience and that goes to our amazing ranger, Craig and his tracker Kenny. They went out of there way to ensure we had a fantastic sightings. The accommodation at Selati is kind of colonial African . We got upgraded to the honeymoon suite which was huge with a lounge, outside shower and bath and a little viewing deck. Selati is a little older than some of the camps we have been in so the layout is not to the Camps best advantage but it was none the less a beautiful spot and the gardens were very well maintained. For those that don't know, a typical safari day is as follows: 5:30 wake up call followed by a tea, coffee and light eats spread. You go off at 6 and return to the camp after 9. While on the drive you will probably stop for a coffee and tea break with rusks, fruit or maybe even muffins. Breakfast is served upon your return and it compromises fruits, cereals, muffins, croissants, cold meat, cheeses, jams and a hot breakfast of your choice. Lunch starts at 12 till 2 and at Selati they have a menu you can choose from which has salads, sandwiches, hot meals and dessert. At 3:30 you are back at the dining area for afternoon tea which is a massive affair of cakes and savoury snacks. You must try the iced coffee! Then you are off at 4 till 7 for your afternoon drive. They also have sundowners and the last part of the drive is in the dark with the tracker searching with his massive light for interesting night time animals. Back at the lodge dinner is served after drinks in the bar area. More snacks! And then a splendid 4 course meal around the fire or in the farm house kitchen. There chefs produced amazing meals. We had a super time and on the last night they even sprinkled our whole room with rosé petals, had a bottle of chilled champagne and a table laid on our deck for private dining!

Room Tip: There are only two with a river view, and those would be the best to get.

Dear Amber
Thank you for the wonderfull review. I also think Selati Camp is wonderfull, but we are another wonderfull Guesthouse nl Selati 103 Guest Cottages with B&B and self catering units just outside of the Malelane Entrance Gate to the Kruger National Park's southern border. The Private Camp that you've described is North of us.
Kind regards
Riekie

You need to stay at Selati 103 at least once in your life...

I have stayed at Selati a few times for business, and have also used it for clients. I have never been disappointed and the extra effort from them is noted. The last time I arrived there on a Sunday afternoon with guests and it was a smooth book in as always, but I have notified them earlier the week on arrival time(As everybody should do for an Sunday). Breakfast and Dinner has always been good, and the breakfast boxes just as good. Selati is a good B&B, with good service, space, privacy, clean, safe and with all the necessaries you can think of. Over all a very good option and good value for money.

If you are looking for a place to stay, well then you have found the perfect one if you are staying at Selati 103 Guest Cottages.

At reception the staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped as plan our route and made us a lovely packed breakfast as we were leaving very early the following day.

We had fresh cut flowers in the room every day, and I still don't know how they did it, but when we went out and came back, our place was spotless, fresh towels and clean linnen! What more could you ask for? This all happend without any inconvience for the guests. The swimming pool at the back of the Cottage was a pleasant surprise. And the garden is WOW! I'm sure this is a little piece of Heaven here on earth!

Even at breakfast you will not be dissapointed. With such excellent service received, how could we not recommend this Place to you??

THANK YOU Selati, you are the Best!

As we did not say thank you for this review earlier- we would now like to invite you for another visit soon? I'm sure you "are still on honeymoon", but need a place other than your own home to rest? Hope to see you soon!

Selati was a very nice place to stay for one night, but recommending it for more than that will be difficult.

Firstly we waited around by the office (wich was closed at 15:00 when we arrived) for someone to check us in. Eventually we were taken to our room which was quite nice. Except for the Tv being in a weird space on the wall and you had to sit in the kitchen to watch it. And the "king size bed" was in fact only 2 single beds pushed together, and sleeping in the gap is not fun.

Otherwise it is vey safe and has a wonderful swimming pool.

There were no staff most of the time

Selati is great! Maybe Bea was unfair with her comment?

As I did not get any earlier opportunity to reply on Bea's comment I would like to do so now. As Bea did not leave her surname or did not book in as Bea- I could not trace the incident after this long time.

The property is more than 10,000 sq meters in size and therefore there is an intercom at Reception with four phones connected which are always answered promptly and friendly (we might walk "out of the remote range" for a second).

The 2 single beds have a 2 inch King size top-mattress. We can provide a little more expensive Double-bed unit next time.

The staff is taught to be quiet and unseen as people are here to have peace and quiet and we do not provide room service, but self-catering with B&B. The intercom/office/ telephone are there for any problem to be reported.

The TV stand is above the counter top area to provide more working space. Only the big Family units are not open-plan units. Our Standard units are really value for money!

Selati gets great positive comments on a daily basis and overall a 4/5 and we also got semi-finalist results in the AA Travel Awards when we competed.

We strive to maintain the high level of feedback that we generally receive and regret any deviations from our standards.

Regards,
Riekie and all her Selati 103 Staff
