all the other comments of travelers were right! A very nice experience, good food, friendly staff, very clean. A candle more during dinner would have been helpful to find the plate;-)
In general a delight!

We could not have been more pleased with our decision to stay at Laughing Waters. Carol was the most helpful person we encountered when making our plans to visit the area. Gavin is a fantastic cook and both are just wonderful. We look forward to returning and would recommend Laughing Waters and Gap tours to anyone. Thank you both for everything!

We've just returned from a three week holiday in South Africa, and were lucky enough to spend four nights at Laughing Waters - it was a fantastic place to stay. The geographical situation near Kruger National Park is excellent, and Laughing Waters itself, a total delight. Carol and Gavin could not have been more hospitable, and the food was excellent throughout. Our room overlooking the garden was wonderful, and I can't think of a better place to enjoy a gin and tonic as the sun goes down. A truly memorable experience - and one my husband and I will remember for ever.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the garden. Your bedroom door will open on to a verandah with tables and...

This part of South Africa promises an almost punishing schedule of visiting some of the most amazing scenic spots in the country and this hotel is a haven of rest and tranquility in the middle of dashing up and down mountains. The setting is wonderful, the gardens in particular are beautiful and appear to have been designed to attract bird life - which was there in abundance. (Certainly one of the attractions of staying here.) We were given an exceptionally warm welcome by the owners and following a gin and tonic in the guest sitting room we were given an excellent evening meal. Our room was big, cool in the hot climate, with a delightful balcony overlooking the garden. A big, adequate bathroom was in some need of refurbishment but, how long do you need to stay in the bathroom? A comfortable night was followed by an excellent breakfast in the hotel's open dining room and we set off revitalised for another 'punishing' day. When next we are back in the area we will visit Laughing Waters again. Excellent quality and excellent value for money.

Very accommodating staff and willing to go out of their way to ensure guests are comfortable and content with their premises, facilities and staff.
I felt home from home. Food was excellent and well balanced throughout the week. A great South African experience.
Logistic advantage is excellent to access the Kruger National Park through multiple entry sites for day trips without being monotonous. In addition, the guest house is in the center of the many historical and spectacular sights to be seen in the region.

Room Tip: Pool front

My daughter and I spent 3 nights with Carol while visiting Kruger National Park. The lodge is homely and comfortable. Carol (Gavin was away) cannot do enough for her guests and loves to sit and chat in the evening giving us an insight as to what it is like to live in this part of the world. Dave, the chef, prepared sumptuous meals each evening meals with full explanations about the food and preparation. The grounds are huge - you might even meet a hippo - and include a lovely swimming pool to cool off after your game drive. The rooms are large and comfortable and very well appointed. The lodge is only a few minutes drive from the Kruger Park and Carol and Gavin also run GAP Tours which will take you on a fantastic game drive. Our guide Tupello was amazing.
The lodge only has 4 guest rooms so the atmosphere is friendly and homely.
