My husband and I stayed at the London Bridge Resort in Lake Havasu City, AZ for a weekend get-a-way. When driving up to the resort it is beautiful on the outside and it is at the perfect location. It is right by the water, above the English Channel shops. It is right in the heart of everything going on in Lake Havasu.

The lobby was beautiful and there was this gorgeous old fashioned carriage statue as soon as you enter. The people that work here were a bit rude but they were helpful enough in getting us one of the bridgewater suites. They warned us that these rooms have great views but they are very loud because they are right above the nightclub Kokomo. We didn't care because we wanted to go to the nightclub anyway.

We had some issues with the elevator, where it was not always running and sometimes we had to take the stairs. Throughout the hallways it looked as though they were renovating and they did have a sign up about this. The carpeting was filthy, the first night we were there but by the second night they had vacuumed. It also smelled terrible, like mold, but was smelling better after they did some cleaning.

Our room definitely left some things to be desired. The door wouldn't open all the way and kept getting stuck on the floor because it wasn't the right size door or something. The room itself looked nice upon first glance and the view really was incredible. We were right across from the bridge and water and we had a nice view of all three pools. The dishes in the room were dirty and a little smelly and the beds were horribly uncomfortable. My husband and I were both very sore from sleeping on them and our bodies were acing throughout the trip due to the lack of sleep and hardness of the beds. The room was SO NOISY! It wasn't because of Kokomo's either, the walls were paper thin and we could hear everything around us. We could here people in the hallways at all hours of the night and early in the morning and the people above us were so loud, we requested to be on the third floor so no one would be above us but unfortunately that is where all their 2 bedroom suites are and we were staying in a 1 bedroom suite. The noise kept us up all night, so there was not a lot of sleep to be had. The TV in the bedroom didn't work and the room just seemed a bit in need of a renovation.

The hotel has a restaurant that they pride themselves on called Martini Bay. This restaurant was not that great. They do a horrible job of managing where the bar ends and the restaurant begins. My husband and I first tried to eat here on Thursday night but they close at 9:30??? However the bar and live band stay open until who knows when. We went to the sushi restaurant across the street instead called Sho Gun, very yummy! The second night we made a reservation to sit outside overlooking the water. My husband and I were wanting a quiet romantic dinner and we were bombarded with loud partyers from the bar who came by our table yelling and smoking. None of the servers even tried to stop them. It was like they could care less. We had to move our table and people still kept coming around. This hotel is definitely a party spot, so be warned if you are looking for a romantic quiet weekend. The food was pretty bad, not at all what they had hyped it up to be. At least the drinks were good.

They have 3 clubs on the property. The first is of course Martini Bay, which is more of a club than a restaurant anyway. They had a live band both nights we were there and old school music. There were a lot of older people here, it really wasn't our scene so we checked out the other clubs. They have Style Nightclub which was a joke because there was no one there. It is a nice club but everyone pretty much goes to Kokomo's. Kokomo's was very crowded and there was no cover to get in which was nice. They played good music, hip hop and there were a lot of drunk people and go go dancers. My husband and I stayed until they closed because we wouldn't of been able to get any sleep anyway.

The pools at this hotel are very nice. They have the pool which is a part of Kokomo's, which has a waterfall screen coming down into it. This pool was VERY cold, not heated, but it did feel good in 90 degree weather. The other two pools were heated and one had a waterfall going into it as well. They have one hot tub also. The pools were not crowded and we enjoyed spending time swimming and laying out enjoying the sun.

If you want to go to the lake, the best spot to swim is Windsor State Beach, a 10 minute drive from the hotel. It had the best swimming beach and was not crowded. Be careful of the red ants though, there are a lot of them here. Don't listen to what the locals tell you as far as the best beaches are concerned. Remember this is a BOATING town, so everyone pretty much swims off their boat and don't really know anything about swimming beaches. If you are like us and didn't have a boat go to Windsor. The beaches they recommended to us were hideous, and they were in the channel not the lake, which is filthy. Windsor is actually in the lake, which was a whole lot cleaner.

All in all the hotel needed some improvements but the location is everything and this hotel has that for sure!

LBG Resort is a nice, but aging place. Like any timeshare, can only remodel certain things at one time. Rents non- used timeshare rooms out, which is wise for $$$. Been coming to LHC for 15-16 years now and pretty much stay here (stayed at the Dunes one year - BIG mis-take!). Pools are nice - boat slips are great (reserve ahead of time), Martini Bay Bar is nice (Thanks to Ryan, Marcos, and Jennifer)!!! The ABC store is small, expensive, but nice to have and thanks to Dottie!!!! (Dottie has been there for years and like the martini bay guys, make it wonderful as they seem to remember the family as we come each time - several times each year). Nice to not have to drive ANYWHERE once we check in - restaurants, stores and all are very close.

It is a shame of the condition of this so called "RESORT" which bears the name of the biggest attraction in Lake Havasu "THE LONDON BRIDGE". We were really disappointed upon entering our room. The front desk employee was very pleasant, however the front desk area was messy, outdated, looked very cluttered and dark. The elevator was old and noisy. The room was musty, outdated, bathtub had mold around the drain, needless to say I felt cleaner not taking a shower that morning. We tried to go to the Martini bar after dinner to get a drink it was closed at 9:00, we decided to try the fitness center which consisted of three machines practically on top of each other and very outdated, looked like someone was throwing them out in their garbage and the hotel picked them up and stuck them in a room to call it a "fitness cente", small, tight , and hot in there!!! My closet is bigger than that room. This Resort is in desperate need of an update makeover and I 'd be glad to help, please someone outhere if you are reading this help this place, we are planning to move there soon and would love to have a nice hotel and resort place for family and friends to stay if needed.

I have stayed here several times due the location, which is very nice. I am now changing hotels because of my last stay. There was mold in the bathroom again!! I don't think housekeeping knows what bleach is. I even asked for a bottle of bathroom cleaner to be brought to my room and they showed up with bottle of glass cleaner and told me this would clean thingd real good. This must be what they use all the time because the shower floor was brown. Another good tip is to never stay here during Spring Break!!! That is if you need to sleep. If you are a college kid and want party all night and puke in your room later, I highly recomend it. If you want to sleep, Forget It!!!!

Recently, I stayed for 3 nights at the London Bridge Resort on a business trip along with a large group of colleagues. Although others found the hotel to be as expected, I found my room in particular to be below standards. The following is a summary of my impression:

Positives:
• Located right by the waterfront with many shops, restaurants, and activities nearby.
• My room included a kitchen with plates, silverware and such.
• Wi-Fi internet connection provided.

Negatives:
• My room was rundown, with threadbare, stained carpets, garbage under the sofa, cracked tiles in the bathroom, outdated bathroom fittings, toilet plunger in a garbage bag by the toilet, a balcony door that the wind kept blowing open (even while locked). Others in our party said they had much nicer rooms – maybe the property is undergoing renovation in phases.
• No breakfast included in the room rate. Breakfast restaurant on property has very slow service.

  • Liked — Proximity to shops, restaurants, activities
  • Disliked — Room condition
