“Unbelievable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

Traveled here with my family for a safari around Kruger. The villas are stunning and you can see an unbelievable amount of wildlife just from your back porch. Each of our villas had a plunge pool which was a fantastic touch as well. The service was on point and the food was fantastic. They take care of your every need. High class accommodations away from civilization. Definitely would recommend, a safari is a once in a lifetime experience but this is someplace I wouldn't mind staying twice!

Our safari experience at Lion Sands Narina was fantastic. We stayed 2 nights at this property and had spent 3 nights already at the Lion Sands River Lodge in Sabi Sands. Our experience was incredible. We saw the Big 5 and lots of other things (Lions, Leopards, Cape Buffalo, Elephant, Rhino plus giraffe, warthogs, hyena, zebra, lots of antelopes.....). We saw elephants, crocodile, cape buffalo, orangutans, monkeys, hippos, among others, from the deck of our room!

Our ranger, Jo, was great as was our tracker Jabulani. We had the truck to ourselves for the 2 days as we happened to stay 2 nights when there was only one other couple at the lodge. We did 2 bush walks and got to do a Rhino approach! The room was beautiful as was the lodge. The staff were super friendly and were eager to please--the food, equally good and lots of it and I'm a self proclaimed picky eater. I jokingly asked if they were fattening us up to feed to the lions. :)

We used Go2Africa for our travel and everything went off without a hitch in South Africa--all the transfers were on-time and as expected.

This was our first safari and first trip to Africa. We will definitely be back!

We ended our trip with a beach trip to the Seychelles at Ephelia Resort--as good as our safari was, the experience there was equally awful. Check out my comments of Ephelia.

Room Tip: Room #9 at the far end was fabulous!

we had a fantastic 4 days at the Lion Sands.
It was our 25 th anniversary and they really made it special,
The lodges, dining area and bar area are simply superb,
The food was lovey but not brilliant(my only complain)
Would certainly return.
Safari was top notch and special thanks to our ranger Ali.

We stayed for two nights in Tinga, following an initial two nights in its sister lodge Narina. The suite with a pool was lovely and tranquil, the main lodge and pool were great, but where the lodge truly excels is in its attention to detail and the care and professionalism displayed by the wonderful staff. They put a great emphasis on service and it really shows. The food is also fantastic, and last but not least the game viewing is excellent. Honestly we could not fault anything.

We had a very pleasant and excellent honeymoon trip in Lion Sands. The food is delicious and safari brought us a lot of fun. Ranger and Tracker did a very good job to find the animals.

We had such a wonderful safari and stay. The staff are wonderful and very knowledgeable. The safaris are exhilarating and filled with great opportunities to learn about the animals, habitat, and surroundings. I would recommend very highly.

What could have been a wonderful stay was spoilt because the lodge was busy with renovations.
They shouldn't let guests stay there while doing it. The noise was terrible. I woke up at 5.30am with this electric saw and hammering right at the front door of my room. I couldn't believe it. It went on for a few hours and the started again in the afternoon. They were busy the whole weekend. I had to climb over the workers to get out of my room. The lodge had other guests as well. I felt it was unsafe as there were loose planks with gaps in between.
On a more positive note they have an excellent chef there and our waitress was an absolute delight. The game ranger and tracker made our game drives very pleasant with their knowledge and friendliness. So 10 out of 10 for them. You go to the bushveld for peace and quiet and it was nothing like that. I feel that they should have warned me when I made the booking as there were other lodges available.
