We spent 3days in Kruger with Ngongo Safaris. On the whole the trip was very informative and Dean our guide was very knowledgeable and keen to show us all that was available. The trip was somewhat marred by being forced to listen to his views about the current state of South Africa which he appeared to have some problems with, he even said it was better 20years ago i.e during Apartheid.
Over the 3 days we were more or less told his life story but he knew nothing about us as he never asked, or showed any interest. As we supported the boycott of South African goods in the 1980s his views were not a welcome addition to the trip.
The trip to and from the park via Johannesburg was also a bit worrying as he spent a lot of time on a handheld mobile phone whilst driving at speed. Apparently dealing with other matters regarding his business. It was never suggested we use seat belts.
It is a shame we had to make these observations as the animals we saw were wonderful.
