We said good bye and got transferred to Tinga Legends (about 1 hour transfer, Lion Sands will take you to Skukuza Airport and Tinga will collect you)
Here you get welcomed by…. Cold mint wet towels and ice tea! J
Another beautiful lodge! Spacious reception and lounge (very open lounge) where they serve breakfast and dinner and your teas and coffees… underneath the pool overlooking a waterhole… we had buffalos going to drink there…
Beside meals time I don’t think guests are really staying by the public areas, the rooms are way too comfortable and spacious to neglect them!
Entering our room (legends 1) on your left a lounge (two armchairs and a full sofa) and on the right your four poster bed (king size) – don’t forget – all the lodges have the highest / softest pillows I have found!
On the far right the bathroom with free standing bath by the window – that opens throughout, separated shower – and even this opens throughout – and separated toiled – with toiled and bide’… his and her sink!
In front the room has a full sliding door wall that opens completely – but can be closed by a mosquito net (hermetically closed – no gaps J) and a full veranda, with two sun beds a coffee table and a…. heated plunge pool!!!
Game drive time arrives too early!!!
But it was worth – as soon as we entered the KNP – bang! A beautiful leopard lying on a tree! And then we saw buffalos, elephants, hippos, hyenas….
Dinner was in the boma, food was delicious:
A selection of salads for starter
Soup
Pap and gravy with spinach and corn
Chicken and lamb chops
Desserts
Cheese
You have to be escorted by your tracker to your room
04 NOV 10 – 43 degrees!
Usual early morning wake up call – by phone and onto another game drive, still very nice, game drive starts at 05h30 and you return by 08h30…. In time for breakfast
Selection of fruits, cheeses, cereals and cold meats (buffet)
And then a set menu for your English breakfast
Off we get onto the land rover, transfer in the hot air to visit Tinga Narina (the manager Nick is a magician – he’s everywhere every time, you see him at Tinga Legends, and then you see him at Narina, always with a smile!)
The rooms are the replica of the rooms at Legend – but the legends ones are in bricks, these ones are all in wood – the lodge I would say is enjoying a better position though, right by the river!
Probably a bit more romantic than legends… but same standard, no major differences, it goes according to personal tastes.
From here we get onto the land rovers ready to go back to Skukuza onto Lion Sands – Ivory Lodge
