For some reason, despite it ups & downs I love this place, maybe it's because it always reminds me of my first visit to SA and the low veld which brings out the more chilled, forgiving and laid back part of my nature.
Food is generally decent but can be a bit hit and miss particually in the morning & lunch periods.
Service is always friendly if fairly slow at times but hey Hoedspruit is still basically like a frontier town and not the big city although every year I've been there over the past 10 it's continued to grow.
Sleepers have now even gone hi tech and have wi-fi. A long breakfast in the sun catching up with the outside world sets me up for the day.
Dinner in the evening tends to be much better in regards to consistency of food quality and booking is normally essential on Fridays & Saturdays.
Great atmosphere whenever you go.
Interesting is the "pub" attaced to the side of the resturant, walking in is like going back 30 years with the local (Afrikan's) good old boys sitting at the bar.
Looking forward to going back because that means I'll be back in Hoedspruit again!!
