“Super Serene Sundays”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

2nd time around for another Sunday family lunch. Will definitely return! Beautiful everything! Food, ambience & music (saxophonist across the river well organized by the restaurant). Thank you to Ken & Patricia for your hospitality. ❤

“Shocking prices”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

We booked a table for 6 adults and 6 children for a Saturday lunch on the 18th August. It was an advertised event with live music by Josie Field. There was a cover charge of R65 per adult for the event; over and above the luncheon. The venue is pretty; tables were beautifully set and service was attentive. What would have been a lovely day out was spoilt by the prices charged for their food and drink. Kiddies meals are a set price of R95 per child. One would then expect decent fish fingers and chips for this price; not out the box cheap processed "glow in the dark" bright orange rubbish. No food options under R85 a portion; and for that you got a teeny tiny portion. R145 for a (single) stuffed chicken breast - dry and tasteless. For an Italian restaruant; out the packet pasta! Woolies does better. And R14 for a fanta. A complete rip off!! Such a pity!!! Family of 4 average bill of R800; one bottle of wine between all the adults; so the bill was mostly food items. I dont know how the owners and management can justify that. We will not be going back.

“The music”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

We happened to be at Al Fiume on a Sunday where there was live music across the river. Unfortunately, the music was all that pleased... Well, and the delicious Pimms Cup.
The service was atrocious... The grass could also do with a little nurturing.
The music made it a noteworthy outing.
I hope when I next go there, it will be a more positive and pallatable experience.

“Riverside Joy with family”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

Food - 10/10
Music - 10/10 (saxophonist across the river was more than wholesome)
Location & scenery - 9/10 (lawn was a bit rough, understandable with autumn season)
Wine selection - 9/10
Ablution facilities - 9/10
Choice of food for children under 10 - 4/10 ( spaghetti bolognaise & chicken schnitzel only options and nothing else for kids)
Booking experience - 10/10 (6 star phone service ******)
Table side service 3,5/10 - We sat with a table full of empty glasses and finished food plates for a good hour with no help in sight). We poured our wine on account of waiters moving between tables and room service...according to their defending explanations)

Apart from reluctant service... all in all a come back "warm and family" place.

“Good and relaxing experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2012

Beef fillet was excellent. There was no one to meet us at the entrance. No covered parking. A bit pricy.
