5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2012

Stayed for 2 nights at the Manor on our drive down the Garden Route. The house is in a lovely location overlooking the lagoon and an easy walk to the village shops and restaurants. Gerald and JD the owners are really freindly and welcoming and give you lots of information on Wilderness, and the surrounding area. Inside the house is beautifully appointed, spacious and with a gorgeous guest lounge. We had a lagoon facing bedroom which opened out on to a balcony with a view over the lagoon. Again the bedrooom (with a four poster bed) was spacious and beautifully appointed. The breakfast was of high quality with loads of choice for a hot breakfastas well as fresh fruit, cheeses and meats. We would love to return to South Africa one day and would definitely stay at Wilderness Manor. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
PS Gerald and JD suggested we try two restaurants in Wilderness, The Girls and Flava Flava -both superb

Sometimes you just visit somewhere that is perfect. Wilderness Manor is such a place. The attention to detail that JD and Gerald put in to the whole experience is superb. From the moment you are welcomed at the door to the moment you leave their total aim is to make your stay perfect and for you to feel special. They certainly achieve those goals. They give such detail about what to do and where to go, not only in the area but in the next area you are travelling to. Nothing is too much trouble. The room we had (a lagoon view with balcony) was beautifully appointed, everything you could ever need, the bed was extremely comfortable with a high quality mattress and wonderful linens. Obviously spotless everywhere. Then you have the stunning view from your balcony, watching the sun set over the lagoon whilst sipping a glass of wine. Breakfasts are just superb. The attention to detail in the table, buffet and hot food, and service is just the best, simply of the highest standards. On top of all this wonderfulness they are both such lovely, caring people. Do yourself a favour and go and stay there!! It's great.

Room Tip: Lagoon View with a balcony!

We spent 1 night at this charming guest house in Wilderness but would have loved to stay a lot longer. The owners Gerald and JD are extremely friendly and make you feel at home straight away. The interior design of the place is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious - probably the best breakfast we've ever had. The rooms have a personal touch and are very clean, comfortable and are the perfect place to relax after a long drive. The resaurant that JD and Gerald recommended was also fantastic. We had a great stay in Wilderness and would like to go back one day.

Wilderness Manor certainly lives up to its reputation. Gerald and JD are perfect hosts and cannot do enough to ensure ones stay is memorable, starting with a warm welcome, refreshments offered and detailed information about the house and the area.

Great attention to detail throughout the house and truly fantastic breakfasts of the highest quality ingredients are served. Our dual aspect bedroom or suite more accurately was stunning and boasted high-quality fittings, furniture and linens with a fully stocked fridge in the sitting room with balcony boasting fabulous views of the lagoon that separates the land from the sea.

We stayed for two nights in this wonderful guesthouse. The service was perfect and also all the recommodations we received from Gerald and JD were so helpful and we enjoyed every second there. When we plan a second tour in this area, we will stay in this friendly guesthouse again.
Thanks a lot! Anton and Andrea from Germany

We spent 3 nights here on our honeymoon and absolutely loved it - our room was stunning and JD and Gerald were fantastic hosts. Superb breakfasts and Gerald went out of his way to provide us with information on the local area. Can't recommend it highly enough!

We stayed here on our way through to Plettenburg, and only wish we could have stayed longer. This place is the most stylish, luxurious, comfortable and UNIQUE boutique B & B we have ever experienced, and Gerald an JD are the most gracious and helpful hosts we met in South Africa! We were offered welcome drinks, and were told that, should we come back late in the evening when they were not around, to use their gorgeous lounge, and help ourselves to drinks, games, whatever we wished - there was a very expensive looking chess set, and even a snooker table in the next room! Our room was enormous with a sumptuous bed, and the breakfast was superb. Even as we left, they gave us leaflets and directions, and pointed out places to stop along the way...FAULTLESS! Thanks guys, we hope we will be back - and stay longer this time, perhaps taking that little boat trip across the water from your stunning place!!

Room Tip: They are all sure to be superb!!!
