We arrived, a group of six, at this restaurant early one evening when it was relatively quiet. It seemed that anything that could go wrong did, although our waiter was charming and very apologetic! We ordered our meals and wine but the first three choices of wine were out of stock. One member of our party ordered a cold starter but to be served as a main with the rest of our meals. It came about half an hour before the rest, as a starter. I asked for just a drizzle of sauce on mine - it came swimming in gravy. My husband's meat was very overdone and three people found sand in the salad! We all asked for the same desert, some with ice cream, some without. Only one had ice cream, the others all had cream. The pepper mills had a mixture of salt and pepper or salt and herbs in them, not well mixed up. The member of our group who ordered the starter/main (smoked fish therefore quite salty in itself) ground a lot of what she could see from her side of the peper mill as black pepper, only to find the fish was practically inedible due to the amount of salt. Service was also very slow as there was only one waiter although there were only two other small groups dining.
