“Relaxing, beautiful and serene”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2013 via mobile

Lake Naverone is one of our favourite places to for a weekend getaway. Exquisite setting on a pristine lake. Easy access to hikes and waterfalls in the majestic mountains. Crackling logfires and beautiful cottages make it an ideal place to relax

Stayed in Wagtail Cottage - perfect spot - amazing views over lake and to the mountains. Sunsets are magical. Cottage is well equipped - two bedrooms and a loft, two bathrooms. Comfortable lounge furnishings and fireplace too. Thatch roof adds charm. Units are far enough from each other not to be bothered by your neighbour. Each unit has a little row boat to use on the lake. This is a favourite spot - walking, horse rides and fly fishing if you are into that.

Room Tip: Book mountain facing cottages for view over lake and to the mountains.

What a fantasic spot. Beautiful setting, well equipped and clean. Everything worked as it should. Serviced twice daily. No TV, No Radio - pack games or books (though games can be borrowed from owners). We were extremely impressed with everything. Pleasant walks, boating available. Well equipped kitchen. Weber braai. Room with a view. Plenty of options from 2 to 12 seater cottages available. The fireplace and heater combined kept us warm and toasty. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for 4 days. What a gem in the Northern Drakensberg! The setting is breathtaking with views of the mountains and the lake at your feet! Firewood brought in daily, cottage serviced daily! An excellent place to wind down. We had an amazing time just relaxing!

Room Tip: Any cottage will do! The views are amazing right from your bed!

Lake Naverone is situated in idyllic surroundings - tranquil, restful and picturesque. The chalets are comfortable and well- appointed although we would have liked electric blankets on the beds and heated towel rails in the bathrooms. The oil heaters in the bedrooms are not quite adequate to heat the rooms. The fireplace in the lounge is welcoming and the wood is replenished daily. You may need to buy more wood though - we went through the wood that was supplied surprisingly quickly. Although there are over 20 chalets in the complex, each is very private with most overlooking the lake.

Second time staying and again an amazing experience. Picturesque views, great accomodation - equiped with a fireplace for those cold winter nights - a wonderful place to get away and just.. slow down. Friendly service, very well kept grounds.. both thumbs up!
