I recently accompanied my son to a golf tournament, which was being played near Scottburgh. We booked this hotel based on how it represented itself on the hotel website. Big mistake. When I arrived, I thought perhaps I'd arrived at the rear entrance-its really shabby and unwelcoming. The public area downstairs is equally shabby and dated. Plastic chairs, mouldy canvas blinds, and no airconditioning despite the sweltering heat and humidity. The room we were booked into was reached via a dingy stairwell with a pervasive smell of Jeyes Fluid disinfectant, mixed with a hint of curry powder ! Two filthy 40 year old armchairs sat on the landing- waiting for guests that will never come. Our room had the hardest beds with the cheapest quality bedlinen I have ever seen. We left 5 minutes later !
