“One of the best few days ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

We stayed at Leopard Mountain for 3 nights and it was absolutely brilliant. We were lucky on the game drives to get up close to some magnificent animals (which of course cannot be guaranteed) including lions, rhinos, giraffes and my favourite - warthogs!! The game walk led by Ivor was great too. The food was like a top rate restaurant and the staff were all friendly, welcoming, enthusiastic and knowledgable. The rooms were lovely and sitting out in the hammock overlooking the bush was heavenly. We didn't want to leave!
The only minor improvements would be if the staff could sit with guests some nights at dinner (I.e. employ a couple of extra waiters) and if the coffee in the morning was made in a machine as ten to six is rush hour before the drive.
If you have the chance then go!

Room Tip: Ask for a hammock and a good view. Grab a beer and you're sorted!

I would to recommend Leopard Mountain Game Lodge for an experience of a lifetime! Every member of staff is instrumental in making a getaway so very special. They really work to pamper and spoil, have a warm and friendly attitude, the meals, teas and picnic baskets are all delicious and superbly presented. The guides and trackers are very knowledgeble, their game/bug/bird/reptile spotting superb and their patience with oldies is excellent plus they put in a lot of effort to make the game drives comfortable and a unique experience. Leopard Mountain is truly aGarden of Eden !

Room Tip: Chalet No. 1 has a superb view from the deck overlooking the valley below and is close to the main l...

We recently stayed for two nights at Leopard Mountain and would strongly recommend this fantastic game lodge. From the moment we arrived we experienced great hospitality from all the staff, our room was amazing, extremely spacious with outstanding views. We had two fantastic evening game drives with John and Duayne who were extremely knowledgable about everything - even star spotting! We also did one morning drive, which despite the very early start (5.30am alarm) was spectacular, watching the sun rise across the horizon then coming back to the main lodge to an amazing breakfast spread. Though my favourite part of the trip was the walking safari we did we two fellow guests and expertly led by Ivor and John. You see the animals and plants in such a different light, i would recommend to everyone. We had a couple of close encounters with some buffalo and rhino, but it was such a memorable few hours and we go some great photos. Thanks Ivor/ John, next time we will be very keen to do the overnight stay in the bush!
The food was outstanding - thanks to chef Ray (thank you for the Blue Cheese & Biltong soup recipe-it was amazing!)
I honestly do not have a bad word to say about this place, i just wish we could have stayed for longer. (Thank you also for sending my necklace which I left in the chalet)
Thanks again for a great few days, and we hope to be back one day in the not too distant future.

I had the most awesome time .I would like to thank Leopard Mountain Game Lodge for the super prize of a midweeknight and for the wonderful spoiling we received.
Our 39th wedding anniversary was so special with a 4 course dinner under the stars in the boma, and a buffet breakfast overlooking the reserve on the deck. The Game drives were so informative and I will always remember the special moments at the waterhole and viewing the animals sunrise and sunset. They have added Lions to complete the Big 5,as well as cheetah and wilddog. We saw lots of antelope, birds & warthog. The best sighting was of the lion.It was so relaxing and the rangers and staff all went the extra mile to make it unforgettable. An experience I would recommend and love to repeat. Wish I was back on the mountain .....

A place to stay for at least 2-3 nights in order to experience everything offered. A very nice and professional place to be, excellent guides and very good food and afternoon tea. The chalets were amazing, very spacious and luxury, the beds are enormous and very comfortable, the bathrooms also very modern and done with good taste, not the normal standard. I sat there watching the wildlife outside from the bathroom window...Pumba with family strolled along...I really recommend this game lodge.

Room Tip: Doesn't matter, I think they are all equal good!

Okay, so we went back for a couple of days at the beginning of March to celebrate a birthday. What a great experience again driving around with Ivor. We had the best time, with absolutely wonderful food. Ivor spent much time at night looking for Nightjars (my favourites) but we also looked for baby chameleons, spiders, beetles and more. We also spent much time looking at the various trees and shrubs - we didn't know that KZN has the most diverse selection in all of SA. The people at Leopard Mountain are the best, and that is what makes a game drive. We will for sure be coming back to his wonderful place with great wildlife. With the N17 finished it is now less than a 6 hour drive from Johannesburg.

Really would recommend this place to everyone!

Room Tip: The rooms are all great, in June they will be refurbishing so we will be planning to go back after t...
