“Haven for Bird lovers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Set within high natural rock with its own waterfall and lush plants this park is small but full of beautiful and entertaining birds. Birds are well looked after with clean aviaries and clean water. Some birds are walking free and accessible but you are advised not to touch or feed them and children need to be restrained. There are very friendly little parrots who will sit all over you and peck but don't go in this aviary if you are scared of birds as it is thrilling but scary. Bird show not very good and I could not understand the narrator , more gibberish than English and he waffled a bit. Nice little Café serves light meals and beverages. The staff are all very friendly. Despite the renovations I had a good time. Hope to return when all the building work is completed.

“A good surprise - great flight show presentation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

I was expecting to be underwhelmed as I had read that the Bird Park had closed due to financial difficulties and had only recently reopened under municipal patronage, I think. I was impressed with how clean the facility and aviaries were. The location is wonderful with a natural waterfall. The best part was the impassioned presentation and conservation message -- given with lots of dry humour, by the ranger on duty for the "flight show". My only quibble was the overly loud music played on the speakers. The bird park was an enjoyable outing and much to my surprise I learned some new bird and conservation facts.

“Lovely morning, well-presented and not a typical trained bird show.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Delightful experience. Cab ride about $10US from Golden Mile- arrange for a pick up time. Many children. Be sure to buy the lorikeet nectar for feeding. Don't bother with the swan food pellets. Well-signed and always something interesting and/or remarkable around the next bend. The show is geared for educational motives- birds have some trained behaviors- no parrots riding a bicycle across a tightrope here. Shows are twice a day, so time your visit to surround the show....
