“Amazing Guest House........!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2012

All I can say is "what an amazing place"..! We recently stayed at the Grange on our trip to Durban for a wedding, and I seriously do not have one negative thing to say about it. Out host Annalie was great, she made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble, she kindly looked after some things for us as we were going to Cape Town for 5 days and coming back to the Grange for our last night before flying home.
Our room was huge, amazing bed, big bathroom and very clean. The whole guest house has an amazing modern decor. I have to mention the coffee, it was the best coffee we have had and together with an fabulous breakfast made getting up easy.
If we return to Durban we would 100% go back to the Grange, we cannot recommend it enough. Annalie has the most adorable dog called Dube who would sit and have breakfast with us, she was so cute. Thanks again Annalie to you and all your great staff for making our stay in Durban so great.

We stayed at The Grange Guest House for four nights in May. This was the best guest house we have been to. It is a beautiful house, completely remolded. The rooms are perfect (great beds, lovely and big bathrooms and our room even had a outdoor garden!) All of the people working there were exceptionally lovely and the owner could not have been friendlier. PLUS, we had the BEST omelets we have ever had every morning for breakfast. I had NO complaints AT ALL. THANK you The Grange!

Room Tip: The room with the rooftop garden!

Absolutely wonderful hosts! They really make you feel at home away from home! Everything from breakfast through to fresh beach towels was fantastic! Kindly they hosted our final family breakfast and generously added farewell gifts! They really go out of their way to make sure your happy and feel comfortable. My boyfriend and i stayed their for 2 weeks and not once did their spirits change. I would most definately stay again and recommend to anyone going to Durban! I hope they are constantly busy as they certainly deserve to be. Oh and hard to forget our Fantastic sea view from our gorgeous roof terrace. Annelie, say hi to dube from us!! Thanks again

I can't say enough good things about this B&B. The grounds, the rooms, the location, the lovely hospitality. The breakfast is unbelievable- all cooked to order, huge selection, and unlimited espresso! A real treat. Annelie did everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, suggesting itineraries, helping arrange transport, and so on. The location is great- close to very nice areas with great restaurants. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. Annelie and Mutari clearly love their home and sharing it with others.

This was really a phenomenal experience. It's a gorgeous setting, with mediterannean-style views over rooftops to the Indian ocean from the breakfast patio. The hosts went out of their way to help us, including phoning police (my bags had been stolen at the airport -- watch your bags at the Durban airport!), and driving me to mall to get new clothing, and my friends to the beach. The breakfasts were really special, both in setting and in quality and options. Also: they have an espresso machine for my morning fix and a help-yourself liquor/beer bar (you jot down what you've had and pay a reasonable fee on checkout). Very secure. Great neighborhood. Close to the better restaurants. Some taxi drivers had trouble finding it, but that seems endemic to Durban and no fault of the proprietors (who also arranged a friendly car service for us -- with no trouble finding the place).

We chose The Grange as we were a large family group and their advertising had highlighted their understanding of travel with children. We were made to feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived and had use of all the facilities to fit in with our varied schedule. Perfect location for visitors to Durban, close enough to the city centre to visit all the attractions or go for business and close to many restaurants to suite every palate.
Annelie, the family and the team are extremely hospitable and efficient. We loved the blend of African art and modern amenities, and really did feel like it was our own home.
Will definitely be staying again on our next trip to Durban
