“An easy sunday lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

The restaurant is very comfortable and cosy and the food was well presented and delicious, the portions were huge and we ended up taking home doggy bags. The waiters need more training and need to be more efficient and service the seated patrons. We waited for a long while to be served and it took time bringing the drinks, overall very impressive glass green tea pots and cocktails.

I enjoyed the atmosphere and will return .

“Don't always believe reviews”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

I've heard lots of people speaking quite highly about a quality experience at Cafe Jiran so decided to try it on 28th March 2013, @ approx 17:00, together with the family & a visiting relative. Unfortunately, I never got further than drinks due to the abysmal service.
Picture waiting 20 minutes for service, then having to get up & approach a waiter, after they had sat you down in the first place!!! Another was so busy polishing the glasses that he just ignored the requests of an on-duty trainee who implored him to attend to us. I have to admit to liking their layout but darn it, that would not fill my tummy, would it! The extremely apologetic manageress tried her level best but given the total lack of service, we just settled our drinks bill & decided to go elsewhere. We did fill in an official complaint too but guess what- NOONE has bothered to even get back to us. Guess that's where the staff must be learning the art of "How not to treat customers".

“Nice little bristo”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

The menu had a few options for vegetarians. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Sitting out on the patio, we enjoyed the ocean breeze.

“Convenient and relaxing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

Situated just off the lobby of the Belaire Suites Hotel, Cafe Jiran was the ideal place for us for sundowners and light evening suppers. Service was good. helpings were generous, food couldn't be faulted, although menu options for little children are limited. Cafe will deliver food to rooms if staying in Hotel.

“Incredible food and coffee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Beautiful setting, phenomenal food and coffee. Possibly the best latte I've had. Gourmet sandwiches such as the club a revelation. My friend grew misty eyed as he described his eggs benedict - he was moved by the experience. I really loved this place. Yes, the service can be uneven, but this is South Africa, and some unevenness is to be expected. Don't let that get in the way of a creamy latte served in a tall glass.
