We recently stayed at this 'resort' on our travels across Arizona after reading reviews. It was definitely a nice alternative for a change of scenery. It is rustic, relaxing and quiet and the food in the restaurant was delicious. We were there on a Sunday evening and all staff leaves because they are off Mondays, so I felt a little isolated in the middle of the woods with few people around, but everything worked out fine. In fact, it was so quiet that we watched elk wander around us when we got ready to head out in the morning. In the evening, you can drive around the area and see wildlife roaming around up close. Great photo opportunities. The room was clean and adequate, but there was no air conditioning and a ceiling fan and floor fan helped a little, but we would have preferred A/C. It is definitely cooler in the mountain, but just not quite cool enough for us when we were used to sleeping with A/C. Would repeat this location for sure and we were glad we stayed overall.
