“Interesting stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We came across the store by accident as we were traveling along route 66. We passed by and decided to turn around and take a look. We're glad we did. A nice set of artefacts and a little museum. An interesting half hour.

“Genuine Step Back In Time On Route 66”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

If you are looking for a step back in time to get your "Kicks on Route 66" then plan on a stop at the Hackberry General Store located between Kingman and Peach Springs. It is easy to pass by this place as you travel the dry and dusty desert landscape, so keep a close eye out for it. Once you see it, stop! You will easily be transported back to another day and time with the antique cars, classic gas pumps, signs (include Burma Shave), 50's music playing, and all the memorabilia scattered around the grounds, and store. Plan on at least 30 minutes to explore and remember back to when the pace of life was a little slower.

“Right off Route 66”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

Cute museum and gift shop of vintage gas station (not gas stop). Be careful. Hackberry sign points opposite direction of where location is. Look for vintage gas stop right off the road. Got lost following Hackberry signs. It is right off the road.

“Real good rust”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

RT 66 was replaced many years ago by I-40 and there are many towns that literally died and became ghost towns as a result. Some have survived because the highways remained close enough together. A few places have managed to capitalize on the RT 66 nostalgia enough to stay alive. The Hackberry General Store is a perfect example of this. The stretch of the mother road between Kingman AZ and Seligman AZ is one of the easiest and most popular detours that travelers can choose to get off the interstate and get a taste of the way to used to be.
At the Hackberry General Store those travelers can see a wonderful collection of historic and quirky memorabilia, ranging from old household goods to cars, trucks and auto parts. The flavor is rust and it's fun to see and recall, if you're old enough. Inside the store you can buy all sorts of t shirts and stickers and nostalgic stuff. You may or may not spend any money there, but at the very least you should take some pictures and go away with fond memories.
