“Interesting, informative, overview of the history of Route 66”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

There were lot of information about the history of the route 66, expansion of the train route to east.
Some interesting facts about great migration to the East.
I was happy to see original Studebaker car inside the museum and enjoyed brief 10 min movie dedicated to route 66.
There was not enough artefacts from the route 66, which I found a bit disapointing.

“One of the best old west Museum ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2014

You'll love this old town museum that you could go to and the cost is little for the time you will spend there.

“This Is A Terrific Place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014

Be sure to stop at the Historic Route 66 Museum in Kingman Az. The woman who works there is a fountain of info! I wish I could recall her name, but she was SO helpful, giving us all the route info and tips on what to see. The place itself is filled with interesting Route 66 facts and history, but the local knowledge of the staff is worth a lot.

“Something to do to round out the Route 66 experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

This is a pretty typical small town regional museum focused on the area through which Route 66 passes. It covers everything from Native American history (very brief), to the coming of the wagon trains (lots) & railway (even more) to the pushing through of the Route (even more). There are some old cars, lots of antiques and a couple of mock up scenes as well as a short movie. All of this is housed in an old power generating station dating from the haydays of Kingman. There is a gift shop on the lower floor for the sort of thing you can buy all over the region and focused on Route 66. On the second floor is a Native American focused gift shop where you can buy locally made crafts as well as trinkets.

Hint:
We stayed at the Hilltop Motel and were provided free entry tickets because of the owners volunteering with this facility
