We often stay in Garden Court Sandton. It is so convenient for shopping in Sandton City and is across the road from the US Consulate. The hotel offers free undercover parking and a reasonable buffet breakfast (normally included in the room rate). The rooms are a bit dated, but clean and functional. Very good value for a 3 star hotel in the centre of Sandton. The staff are always friendly.

I have no complaints about Garden Court Sandton. The location was excellent since we just had to cross the road to Sandton City Mall. The breakfast was delicious and the service was on point. I was particularly happy with the shuttle service to the Train Station.

The hotel is situated in a quiet up scale neighbourhood just opposite the Sandton City mall and Nelson Mandela Square. The breakfast spread is awesome , the staff are friendly and really accommodating. I got a new toothbrush for everyday! The room was a little small but that's all I didn't like. Everything else was fab!

They consider themselves a 3 star hotel, i would give them 4 stars and here is why

1. They are located smack in the middle of Sandton, walking distance from Nelson Mandela Square, Sandton Mall and Gautrain station (they have free shuttles service to and from the train station, with the nicest chauffeur)

2.The staff were awesome and very very helpful. Tshidi, Beauty, Petunia, Gabriel, Simphiwe and every one else we dealt with were great to say the least ! Stayed 6 nights and everything was fabulous! They were willing to accommodate our numerous requests including late check out because we had an evening flight

3. Breakfast buffet was expansive, seriously, tables were cleared very quickly and very discreetly

4. They have a pool and a gym, so you get to keep fit while on the go. The gym is rather small with 2 tread mills and a bicycle but its sufficient seeing as most guests gave it a wide berth :-)

5. The rooms are okay - though a wee bit small. Housekeeping do a good job and the room was always spotless. It has a TV with lots of channels to choose from. A safe is also provided for your laptop, camera and stuff. They also place an iron boxes and ironing boards along the corridors in the morning so you can nip out and press that shirt.

I would have given it 5 starts - except for

1. They charge for internet, averaging 30 Rands for 30 minutes
2. Check out took a wee bit too long
3. Lady chef at breakfast was a wee bit snappy - she looked irritated when she did not understand how you wanted your eggs done. The gentleman was accommodating and would say "give me a minute and we will do it together"
