“Surprisingly excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

When you arrive you get a sense it being the usual run of the mill hotel grub. Once seated we were seriously considering leaving but decided to give Lacuna a chance due to it superb gardens and surrounds. Then arrived the starter. We had the Baked savory choux pastry with emmenthaler cheese and warm parmesan cheese filling. So good, we eventually had three portions. We had the fillet as mains which is excellent with the tangine vegetables (almost a sauce). Then came the motivation for this review. The staff's unbelievable ability to make a plan with whatever it is you want. "No" is not part of their vocabulary. After lunch, we asked to be seated in the garden. No problem. We asked for a gas heater in the garden. No problem. We eventually left our lunch at 19h00. Thanks to Thanda and his staff for going the extra mile.

“Such a pretty hotel and restaurant but worst food I have eaten in a long time”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

went there for a what was meant to be a beautiful birthday dinner. the place looked so nice, the service was good . But the food was inedible. My girlfriend ordered chicken. it was dry and tasteless. I ordered plain fish that was simply inedible.

would never recommend this place to anyone .

birthday cake was some cheap pick and pay cake

“warm welcome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

After an overnight flight and 3 hours business meeting, I check in at Maslow and, starving like ever, I approach the one waiter at 4 PM at Bistro...well, welcomed and nourished as Gold Customer, fantastic Maslow Steak well done

“Good place for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

Had both lunch and dinner in this restaurant as well as a pre dinner drink in the adjacent bar.

Nicely styled with a good layout and very attentive staff.

I thought lunch was good value (beefburger and hand cut chips) and sat outside on the terrace overlooking the garden. It took a while for my food to come but just as I was thinking this is taking too long the waitress came over and unprompted, apologised for the delay as a large group had ordered just before me. The food when it arrived was very good.

Also had dinner (Lacuna caesar salad starter, steak main and tiramisu dessert). All were excellent, the salad was enormous for a starter and the tiramisu was really delicious.

“Not good”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

The revamped hotel in which this restaurant resides, has been in the advertising media a lot of late. They are encouraging people. Think twice. It is definitely not a bistro. Ordinary hotel buffet food. And with flies in the food. Not just one, but a large number of them.
